BoonEx: Which servers does your company offer for BoonEx customers?

Arvixe: All servers are at least Dual Quad-Core Xeon servers with 6 GB of Ram. We deploy our servers at the largest, most-secure datacenters in the US to ensure 100% network connectivity.

BoonEx: Are there any special programs (discounts) for customers referred by BoonEx?

Arvixe: "boonex" coupon provides 20% off yearly and 2 year payments. 10% off monthly and 6 month payments.

BoonEx: Do your servers meet all BoonEx products technical requirements, and can you provide us/them with all the necessary accesses so the software can be installed properly?

Arvixe: Yes. All linux servers have ffmpeg installed. We also deploy a local RMS server on each linux server and offer it FREE to our Boonex clients. If any other specialized libraries are needed for your custom BoonEX installation, let us know what you need and we'll get it for you. We have a Boonex demo available for perspective clients and the auto-install feature is available through our control panel.

BoonEx: Is there a possibility to use .htaccess or php.ini for local PHP setup?

Arvixe: Yes local php.ini can be deployed in any directory for PHP variable alteration and .htaccess can be used for mod_rewrite and other Apache modules.

BoonEx: Is it possible to use phpMyAdmin?

Arvixe: Yes. included within cPanel.

BoonEx: Is it possible to use SSH ?

Arvixe: Yes. Free SSH available with all plans.

BoonEx: Do you help customers to create domain names and register their nameservers?

Arvixe: Yes.

BoonEx: Do you open the necessary ports per customer's requirement? (if someone would like to run several Ray Media Servers)

Arvixe: Yes. In fact, we are one of very few hosts that offer our customers FREE local RMS server for their BoonEX installations. The RMS server is provided even for our shared hosting plans. No VPS or dedicated server required.

BoonEx: Would the site activity logs be available for a customer in case some problems appeared?

Arvixe: Yes Raw Access Logs are available from within cPanel. The customer can also choose to archive the logs for later access (months/years).

I joined Arvixe 2 days ago, my boonex free account is already running at fullspeed. All gadgets working and included was free RMS server. I paid like $7 and got all of this with a one click install. 5 minutes after recieving account confirmation my Boonex was live. Check it out www.nihaopeople.com

A footnote: I also checked in at HostGator...Their plan doesn't come close. And doesn't include RMS server. Fully recommend Arvixe over others :)

I'm so concerned about stability, because I went with a hosting company listed on boonex and now they are gone and so is my website! I'm sooooo upset! I do hope this company works. I have to start all over again, and I'm super Sad.

I cannot express enough how great and easy it is to get the support I need now that I am with Arvixe.

They have a toll free number which puts you directly in touch with a real person meaning you are no longer at the mercy of a ticket system. Even though I'm in the UK, if you use Skype, toll free numbers are free no matter where you call from so calling them in the USA doesn't cost a thing.

It is of course early days but they have been awesome so far.

I experienced way too much downtime see more with my previous hosting company from things that were completely avoidable. For example, you should not allow automatic updates to occur on your server until you have had the chance to test them. They had automatic updates turned on. This caused my site that has paying members to be down for nearly 15 hours on a Sunday day when the site is used the most.

There were a few exchanges via the ticket system then told to standby.

12 hours later I get a response. You can see my point. I would like to repeat that this repeated downtime was NOT with Arvixe but one of the other recommended hosting companies.

Arvixe's telephone support line is only one good reason to join Arvixe. They are cheaper too and offer RMS for free.

I placed a post in the forum asking for recommendations and all but one were for Arvixe. The choice was obvious.

Hope this helps make your choice simpler.

I must be honest, I have their cheapest hosting package which is a shared server (that has A LOT of clients on the same server). It sometimes bogs down but is still reliable and you can't beat the price. I am going to move up to their business package (which has a lot less clients on the same server).

You cannot beat their customer service. Their 24-hour live chat answers quickly and they have resolved any problem I've had. You can't beat their prices and service!

We do appreciate the positive comment. To outline some of the issues with a slower response time of your site, please note that we've been troubleshooting some aspects of a new Backup software we are running on our servers (R1Soft) and that may have caused some slower server response times. Furthermore, do note that the longer you keep your account with us, the more stable the server becomes. As we are loading a server with new customers, it is likely that we get abusive customers see more that tend to spam or abuse system resources. Once the server is full and we identify and remove these users, the server ends up performing at a very good level and has 100% uptime almost every single month. We tend to see this across all of our servers and I'm sure you will notice it as well.

I totally agree!. I spent 3 weeks with a client trying to navigate around permission controls and inabilities of hosts to open ports,run RMS etc etc. I finally got them to switch to here, and I was up and running in a few hours. Support rocked. They were actually THERE online! and KNEW things ;) that helped. Highly recommended!

I have been on Avixer for a few days. My satifaction has been mixed but I am willing to work with them trying to get all Dolphin to work. The problem I feel disapointed is the guy on chat support can't help with anything even unlock my Cpanel user ID which was locked up because of SmartFTP failed connections except telling me to email question.

The RMS server is a separate service that needs to run on a server so that you can utilize Dolphin's more "visual" features such as Chat. Without an RMS server, your users will not be able to collaborate over chat and use features such as the web cam within the chat console.

I had problems with 2 hosting companies lying to me and being slothful in service and Then I clicked onto the arvixe site and the warm greetings and helpful hands of their employees were extended bringing me out of the mental break down these other 2 companies had driven me into......they were very helpful and loaded the d7 for free and gave me a afree domainname...and a good price on hosting on modern well cared for servers,not out dated junk the other companies had he on......the other company see more had as well lied about the ability of their servers and one click install of d616 which had no rms......this company I will gladly take time to advocate......www.secretsocietiesunited.com the old site 1/2 functioning is at www.secretsocietiesunited.org log on and compare server speeds and sites........Adam am a buisness professional and this compaany would not intentionally engineer problems for their clients and generate negative publicity that would effect their good names and bottomline/profits.....

the 24/7 chat support is just great, they solved all my problems right away, all other things take just the blink of an eye to be sorted and installed and everything. the software package that comes with your account - including dolphin 6.1.xx AND dolphin 7 , also items like podcast facility, weblog and, and, and .... its incredible. You can run up to 6 Dolphin installations with the cheapest personal class package see more ... what else do you want?

i have various accounts with German webspace sellers but this is NO comparison to the service i get with arvixe

TBH: Never ever another hoster than Arvixe, i am more than satisfied with them

I have seen a lot of mixed reviews here about Arvixe. But from my own experience so far with them, I gotta say it's been great! Almost every time I needed assistance, Arvixe was there to help. I've been with them for almost a year and had no problems. I want to send out a special thanks to, in my opinion, the best tech support guy on the Arvixe team...Mr. Noah! I've dealt with other Arvixe support staff but Noah is the only one who has always gone above and beyond to insure my satisfaction. see more He never makes me feel rushed to solve any issues. I'm not much of a tech guy, but I do know customer service and Arvixe has always been there for me 24/7. Yes, chat support can take a little long sometimes to get to you but heck, just imagine all the people they have to deal with. Anyway, just my thoughts. Thanks again Noah for all your help and patience!

The service & support from Arvixe is very good but the problem I am facing is that the server was fine initially, it has become dead slow now. Arvixe guys gives a lot of explanation but I am not convinced.
finally they told me that Dolphin itself a heavily loaded script, hence i need to bear with it!!!
I really do no know what to do as I am expecting my site traffic to go up very high.

Aurkutch, If you'd like to email qa@arvixe.com your ticket ID, we can look into the specifics. Sometimes, we get requests of why it takes a few seconds for a Dolphin site to load. We've demonstrated with several third party tools that regardless of the heavy script or not (which gets taken care of by Dolphin's caching ability), a single Dolphin page load, loads up 30-40 images and some of which are quite large. On even a moderate connection, for a complete page load, it may take 4-5 seconds.

To see more demonstrate the ability of the server, we provide very transparent statistics such as server load being available at all times and providing you with PHP/HTML pages to load to test the response speed of the server. All servers are connected to strong backbones using a Gigabit NIC card and so can transfer at speeds of above 20-30 MB/s if given the opportunity to do so.
Excellent service they have helped me set up and with an other issues I have had. Use them if your new to this as I was and you can not go wrong.

I think Arvixe is a good host among some other recommended hosts for Dolphin 7. However, do not be fooled by seeing that $4 per a month Personal Class would be the best bet your Dolphin 7 site. If your site get hits with little more activities or sending more emails than they limit for you, you account will be suspended.

Note: I had issues with the servers crashing my site from time to time on shared hosting w/ arvixe, so I moved up to the VPS plan to *fix* this (supposedly for my install & number of users the shared plan was more than enough, but the reality is that it didn't lol). They don't apply the "lifetime discount" to VPS plans. Just a heads up and warning!

I just subscribed to their hosting service and requested that my site data be transfered urgently because my current host is an A$$ and would like to get out of that host ASAP. Arvixe said they can do it and it will be easy since I am using cpanel and they will do it ASAP... 24+hours later my data was still not trasfered and when I contacted their support via phone.. the guy that I spoke with at 10:15PM EST, March 18, 2011 (in case you want to review) didn't even hesitate to close my account when see more I said I'm not happy with how the transfer is taking that long. Then he added my refund will be given back in 3 days. WOW!! They can cut me off that fast but refund will take 3 days. WOW!! I mean ... WOW!!!

I can't begin to tell you how horrible arvixe service and customer service is. I just spent 2 months trying my best to make it work and finally gave up. And after seeing how my site runs on a different host???? If I'd known that much of the quirkiness of Dolphin was coming from them ... I would have given up much earlier.

I could go into excrutiating detail about how they suck, but let me just hit the highlights:

* When my site hit 5 members, I started running into issues. FIVE.
* repeated see more site outages (starting at 5 min several times a day and ranging all the way up to outages of 36 hours) with clashing answers from various people as to 'why' and no solutions offered
* horrible nightmarish site transfer w/i their own system from shared to VPS - total incompetence (I was surprised a month later, when the transfer from arvixe to hostgator went so smoothly. I'd half assumed that it was just the process of transferring a dolphin site that made it such a nightmare, but no. It turns out the nightmare was all arvixe)
* lies about server setup, after saying they'd updated the server settings to dolphin's requirements and suggested optimized settings I found at least 5 settings that weren't
* and when caught in the lies the standard answer is "the person who told you that is new and doesn't understand Dolphin." Everyone there must be new!!
* horrible customer service response times (for ex. )over a week to get a response to RMS inquiry of "what are my RMS settings?" They had to bump the ticket up to mgmt to find those. Idiots.
* and just an overall sense of incompetence - they're livehelp is especially incompetent.
Blah, I could go on for days about it, but basically they suck. You've been warned!!
I just signed up with "Arvixe" (VSP-Pro , 12mths in advance) and I am already starting to worry as they failed to add "Dolphin " to my Control Panel and now even thier own Staff can't figure out why so what hope do I have ?? I have requested Dolphin be added but it now appears almost no one at "Arvixe" has any idea how to install it at all !!!

They said because I have (VSP-Pro , 12mths in advance) I will also get Unlimited RMS ( well that is what they told me after see more 3 weeks of talking to them) and I asked today and was told today that my RMS will be VERY limited and could have to wait serveral weeks before they will be able to give me my RMS.

I thought I did ALL my homework when it came to "Arvixe" but one thing I have learnt is don't always beleive what you are told and a Promise from "Arvixe" doesn't really mean a thing.
