Major Update! Unity 1.0.

In line with  other steps of getting our sites packed into one, we are updating Boonex Unity, now incorporating Expertzzz.com functionality and adding more.

1.0.0

Unity is a sophisticated system and it's gaining traction. For convenience sake we'll now be tracking update versions and the latest is now known as Unity 1.0.0.

What's New

You'd better try it out. You'll see a lot of big and small changes here. Most notably, you will now see Extensions, Jobs and Ads here, which means that we decided to launch an alternative to Expertzzz.com here. We just took all our experience, your comments/complaints/suggestions and built a new system with the primary focus on security and quality.

 

Ok, here's how we're going to do that... Expert status is no longer as simple as falling down - you have to earn it and prove that you are an Expert. This you can do by submitting one free Extension for review by our admins. yes, that would mean that you have to provide at least one free Extension to maintain your Expert status. A little bit of free stuff the the community and you have your business opportunity to sell your other works here.

 

Next, every single Extension submitted will have to pass an approval process, which will involve both moderators and admins.

 

And, finally, every active Extension has to maintain a high rating to stay available for purchase. That rating will include both the product quality and support quality factors.

Memberships

Check out the new membership levels. It should be pretty self explanatory, but your questions are still welcome.

 

All in all, you may see that we're trying to involve more community participation in making this system secure and free of spam/fraud/leeching.

 

Expertzzz.com

...will stay on. Yes, we're not shutting it down, for it is full of great data, valuable products and healthy activity. Moreover, we have some plans on how to improve it. The main difference, however, is that Expertzzz will now go it's own, independent way and will be more open, which may be both bad and good, depending on how smart and careful you are.

 

Accounts from Expertzzz and Contributor statuses are now merged with the new Unity.

 

Forums

The topics structure is very different from that of Expertzzz, as was suggested by many of the Unity members. We believe that the new structure would follow a more logical path to critical information.

 

Is this it?

No way! This is only the tip of the iceberg. Now we need YOU to help us sort out the best ways to run the new Unity and make it even better. We need your feedback as never before, for we're now getting ready for something extremely important - and that's coming up soon!

i love the look, i even love the fact that it was my post that i started that made you act on this, only have a few minor issues:
#1 i had to use 2 different accounts as my user name was already taken on expertzzz when i had already signed up here as sammie. and sammie99 on expertzzz.
#2 it shows i have 95 days as a contributor, (just paid for it again last night) but i do not have access to either the contributor forum, that is showing as empty (guessing you took my advice and combined it into see more the one forum so everyone can lookup the info they need) or is it a bug?
#3 only 6 contributors are listed?
#4 still no comment on the missing admin/moderator chat controls in dolphin 6.1.1 can someone comment on this?

HI! I am having problems with my ad-free license. The links in the footer were removed following the release of 6.1.1 but I noticed to my amazement that they where present again. I have also noticed that in 'my licenses' my ad-free license is no longer registered. I was wondering whether this is related to the update. I want to launch asap so any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

update your firefox, it works fine on mine, and it maybe you have some firefox plugins that cause the issues, i have no plugins on my firefox but the google toolbar

The first extensiton which we have to submit would be free for download??? If yes, that means we will need to make one for becoming an expert. Can't our points or avg. at Expertzzz help?

As a consumer and not a programmer I think the logic is clear. We want to know who you are and what you are capable of before we start shelling out the cash. If I were a programmer I would want my free offering to be something really dynamic and cool which would attract customers to buy from you again and again.

As you can see above "... Expertzzz will now go it's own ...", therefore all your activity on the Expertzzz is activity in the different system. If you want to work here you need to start from the very beginning.

It generates a licence, but then they wont work!

We had some problems with license checking and displaying in the "My Licenses" section. They are resolved. You should see your licenses(Free, Annual and Lifetime) now.

Hi,

Where can I find my smart pro back area (eg licence number, downloads) in the new unity? Beside this I get 404 errors in the new unity.

I am having problems with nmy ad free licenses since the change. Can someone please address this?
I just tried to register a new ad free license and that doesn't work either. Anyone have a solution on removing the branding that was readded this morning?

You should see your "Ads Free" licenses now. Try to reregister your software. The licenses should be accepted if you use them with the suitable package(Free, Ads Free).
We have the same issue. The licenses are not working for new install.

Same deal - All of my Smartpro licenses and downloads are missing. I'm sure you guys will fix this and overall this is a great idea. I'm looking forward to the day all of your software and add-ons will incorporate auto installers instead of everyone struggling to do manual upgrades.

Downloads from Expertzzz won't be transfered on the new Unity. You can redownload them from the Expertzzz only.

As for the post above about firefox, maybe its just you as its not giving me any problems and i've tried 3 separate PC's (all of which are on diff networks/sites), not that that really makes any difference ;)

I am very confused with Support... I have been trying to get support for months now.

After I posted a complain on this blog, I got an email .. but when I send the list of things I need .. I get silence.

I sent this email on May 9.. .then again a few days ago.. no response. Seems like posting on this blog is the ONLY way to get a response.

It is very very strange ... but I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

You guys need a "Trouble Ticket" system where we can open tickets
online instead of sending email.

Here's is the stuff ... some of these my get fixed if we upgrade to 6.1.

1. Link on comments do not work. They take you back to the main page.

2. Import of users is incomplete. TONS of users from Spain when they are obviously
from some other country. Note that Spain is the default country.

3.Orca allows non-members to post. Would like to limit it to only member as "anonymous" posts
show the photo of the currently logged person.. and I get tons of complains because of that. I looked
around in the forums and changed settings .. but they don't work.

4. www.amistad.com/cafealmediodia is extremely slow ... rest of the site and other profiles are fine.

5. Would like to upgrade to 6.1 ... to se if it would fix some of the bugs. I have 6.04 ...

Let me know if some of these are not covered .. and how much would it be.

Tonight all my licenses stopped working. The dolphin logo's and "powered by" links appeared on all my pages.

Logged in to admin and was told my copy of dolphin was not registered.

I went to UNITY to retrieve my licenses. They where no longer there.

Whats going on??????

I stopped using the system a month or so ago, so I'm kinda lucky I'm not going through this crap I guess. I just didn't appreciate the "don't mess with the footer" nonsense and the licensing BS was getting on

Hello Andre,

I want to change the subject and make a suggestion. I was a recording studio executive for many years and I think the way new music is produced might help you to process the extentions created by your independant programmers.

In the music industry we purchase the right to produce a song if we like it. Once the contract with the artist is signed we then produce the song in our studio making any agreed upon changes to the music to insure it's success. We then handle the marketing see more and customer support for the artist who normally is not suited to manage these matters. Once the music or in this case an extension is sold the artist receives a commission or a royalty check as compensation.

I think if you adopt a similar approach you can generate seamless extensions for public consumption which can be modified to work everytime regardless of the Version Level and your associate programmers can make money and concentrate on what they do best rather than facing the daunting task of marketing and supporting their products.

For your license to work you NEED the latest patch.

To find you license: look at your old BACKUP files:

find something like: ../ray/modules/chat/xml/main.xml

(and chat can be any ray module of course)

open it in dreamweaver - or even notepad.

you will see something like:

<items><item key="status"><![CDATA[enabled]]></item><item key="license"><![CDATA[********]]></item><item key="code"><![CDATA[chat_3.1.0000]]></item><item see more key="updated"><![CDATA[true]]></item><item key="updateLast" /><item key="updateUrl" /></items>


ALL the ********** is your license number.
That is how I found them.

What happen the licencse code Free and Ad-Free for dolphin many my friends who use the dolphin can't registration free license process with Dolphin 6.1.1

I downloaded and installed 6.1.1 yesterday afternoon. I can't get the free license to work.

I also have a problem with the photos, video, music, etc. links being broken, though I followed the installer exactly and set the permissions accordingly (took me forever).

I'm a professional web designer and know my stuff, but I refuse to go in and make edits and hacks to files that should be set up properly to begin with. I want some thing that "just works". Take Joomla, for instance.

I'm see more still interested to purchasing the install service and ad-free license, but with what I have been reading, I am not so sure anymore. Boonex, help restore my faith!

Try disabling the permalinks of photos, videos, music and so on from the admin settings pages.. that's should work!

Did you generated a pack of new Free licenses or tried to your the old? What error messages did you receive?

When there is no doubt about the incompetence of an employee even if they are your best friend from the Old Country or whatever you must fire that person or demote them to the help desk or something and then replace them with a truly experienced and capable person. I fear that your entire business is at stake due to the obvious incompetance of somone within your organization and the time to be a nice guy is over if you hope to save the company.

Now the problem is completely resolved.
Please try to register your software again, with old licenses or just generated.

Ray "Free" licenses are still not working. It keeps saying "No Product Found" when licenses are put in. Dolphin main license is working now,

What Ray version do you use? We had some problem registering an old versions of Ray, but it is resolved now.

Scrap this software for good.Sooner or later you will know that you cannot own a successfull site using this software, the sooner you know the better and you will save a lot of money and time.

I guess in this case it all depends on how you define success.

My own site is SUCCESSFUL in every way I wanted and in ways I only saw others achieving that I didn't consider would happen to me. With Dolphin, not only did I meet up with like minded designers and developers, I've been able to work with clients who wanted mods done. Through the site and via e-mails, many have become whom I now consider as friends :D We share info, links, advice and the funny joke or pic once in a while. see more This is truly a community builder. I have experienced it myself.

Most of the problems I've seen are usually installation issues and that is because sometimes it's permissions, server setup or they did not fully ftp all the required files. I've done dozens of installations in the past few months and I can tell you first hand that many of the problems were incorrect settings and configs.

Granted the latest release had a hiccup which was and is being resolved at this time, I have to say that this is by far one of my favorite Web apps.

Either way, good luck and I hope you find what you're looking for and maybe down the road Dolphin might be "it" again. I dunno.

BoonexNerd.com has helped a few people to modify their own Dolphin site. The site has provided free tutorials, mods and shared experiences see more from the forum.

How can you call helping people "irrational"?

Unless you know my definition of success, that is in essence what you've said.

I'll tell you what. If you'd like, you have my personal invitation to join and try out the site. As an incentive, send me an e-mail with the problems you've had with Dolphin and I will do my very best to see if I can solve them. And if I can't solve them there is a growing legion of other developers like the tireless MrPowless, the powerful CyberXing, just do it Dadniel, Do Gooder DosDawgs (smokes...I know I am gonna miss someone), Simion and a few more that I haven't the memory to remember at this time.

And as an incentive while your at it why don't you ask your buddy Just Steal It Dadniel to return the two hundred fifty dollars he stole from us, or how about the fact that he threatened me when I tried to get a refund, and let's not forget Make A Quick Buck Pen and Pixels who ripped us off for three hundred fifty, or Brown666 who sold us a package deal of stolen mods which he never installed for three hundred dollars.

We have a memory to remember see more all of these rats and that's why our investigators are tracking them down. If Boonex weren't in the process of doing something about these crooks we would have abandoned this program long ago.
