I never thought I would get this far with Dolphin

I've been working on this freaking project for almost a year now. I've tried so many different scripts, built up a site and realized that it wasn't the right one for me. I have started over and over and over and over again, to the point where I lost count.

Finally I have reached a point to where if I wanted to go out and market my site, I actually could. I WON'T, because I'm not ready for that step yet. I've learned alot along the way and one of the things I've learned is that building a site is just like going out and building a business around the corner from your house. There is sooooo much work that goes into it. I never understood why people would build a site and then fail.I thought putting together your own website was easy as pie. I now know that it takes persistance and hard work to get something to blossom the way you want it to. You can make your site look like a million dollar site but if the content and functionality isn't there, you have a worthless "million" dollar site. (huh?)

I know that I haven't hit the real "hard work yet." Don't get me wrong, customizing Dolphin isn't easy at all. Making it your own is a whopper but once you get it to where you want it to be, it feels like you took on the world by yourself. I think I might be at that point right now. Everyday I type in my site, and smile every time it pops up. To see my work  and progress brings on a feeling of accomplishment.

How far have I come?

Well I finally gave in when it came to the customizing the entire script with certain keywords, so I hired someone to do it for me. He is actually modifying it as we speak. We started off rocky but honestly he is cool peoples. He works swiftly and professionally and thats what I like about him. I like people who work on their toes, he is a mover and a shaker.

I gave him a list of things I needed and he is attacking as if his life depended on it. I also requested step by step instructions on what he did, so that way if something happens, I can do it myself AGAIN. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

The only thing that I MUST do before I move on to the marketing part of the site is pull that media player out of my profiles, it's hideous! Other than that I'm about ready to go, I think. I've noticed that everytime I think I'm ready, I find that something else needs to be done.

Want to hear a funny thing?--- I have butterflies in my stomach. Why? because I feel like success is chasing me and every time I turn around, It seems to get closer and closer. Some people are afraid of success. I think I'm one of those people because in the end I'm afraid to fail. But I think the thought of failing is whats keeping me in the game right now. I refuse to lose!

Moving on...

I need to find the right media player for my site, I have no idea how I'm going to get it on there because I haven't dealt with flash like that. So I'm going to have to sweet talk a few people, to get a few ideas on what to do.

Bottom line?------ IT'S ALL COMING TOGETHER! BOOOOOYAAH!

Good luck with your venture. Lol, it isn't easy as pie but if you work hard and have patience, you will get there.
