How about an area for Useful Tips & Tricks?

I think the community would like to see (and I may be mistaken) an area devoted to spreading the word about useful hints, tips and tricks for improving the Dolphin experience.  While we have the Forums for answering questions and posting ideas, and the blogs for displaying our writing talents, or lack of, and a lot of sites out there that provide us with helpful information, it would make life a lot easier for everyone if we had one, central location where experts could provide everyone with the helpful information most of us could use from their daily experiences with Dolphin.  This would not be a question and answer type of content, just a place where we can give some useful and hopefully helpful advice about some of the things we've run across in making improvements to our sites.  Even if it's just another section in the forums, it would help to have a central location to place these types of helpful features.  Let me give you an example.  I recently searched for a way to remove individual block borders similar to jtadeo's customized blocks tutorial for version 6.0 to use on my 6.16 version.  I eventually found that this ability is already present in Dolphin, but if it is documented, it's not readily apparent.  A google search revealed one brief note about this on someone's site stating that they just replaced the designbox setting in their database from 1 to 0.  Then it hit me, in the templates area are several designbox html pages.  designbox_0.html contains the minimized code to remove all block borders.  So now, not only did I have a way to individually style my blocks, I could actually create any number of designbox html pages and create custom blocks any way I wanted with as many as I wished for a page.  Now I know this isn't a big deal, and there are probably a lot of folks that were already aware of this feature, but having a place to post this type of information that doesn't get buried in hundreds of other issues, comments, blog posts and the like would help someone like me looking for this type of solution for their site.  A wiki or anything else that would help the community assemble their ideas, tips, tricks and helpful hints HERE, on the Unity site, could save us all a lot of searching and add to the reputation of Dolphin as a Community supported product.  While the forums and this blog area are great, there is just no order to anything.  A Tips and Tricks set up with areas such as "Design Elements, Database Tricks, RMS, etc"  would be much easier to navigate and add to or find items we are interested in.

Thanks for considering this.

We could have been pretty far along by now.

HL, your blog post just proves the point. You made that suggestion a year ago, and it's gotten so buried in this blog, I didn't even see it when I made this post. Hell, even if it just keeps folks like me from making in essence the same post over and over again, it would be worth it to have some kind of place to post helpful info. I don't know about the rest of you, but after stumbling around for a while looking for an answer, a post that might contain a helpful response, or just looking for some see more ideas, the structure of this site needs some improvement. Just my opinion (and I'm an old, opinionated SOB, I know) but it sure would be nice to just be a few clicks away from the answers I want when I want them........

Bigal, you haven't noticed the infinity symbol in the company logo? It's actually ingenious, and the disappearance of pagination makes it even better. Just have your users go over and over again in the same infinite loop until the end of their natural lives.

My post on an important combined architecture and security issue (and you can have any serious dev look at it for a second opinion on whether it's important or not), including a note on a potentially critical vulnerability, just bumped off see more the grid without coming to any sort of conclusion, or receiving any sort of serious feedback (except a bubblegum patch report that pretty much missed the point wholesale). Loopy hey! And life rolls on...

Blogs pagination disappearance is a big - being fixed now. As for forum suggestions - we'll add those, thank you.

Big Al, you seem to have some clout around here. The next time I want something from Boonex, I'm going through you.

Just noticed the pagination restored here — makes the Blogs section a whole lot more meaningful beyond very short term. Thanks for that, Andrew!
Things seem to be shaping up slowly but surely. Glad to see it, and glad to see people posting some tips & tricks as well :)
HL, I really wish this had been done back when you first suggested it. Just think how far along things might be by now. And I don't think it had anything to do with me....

Yep, should've done it before. Sorry for being SLOW.
