Does anyone know where a good place, kinda cheap at the same time.. for beginning stages at least, to host the Dolphin software? The current server that I am using, does not accept the software.. and I would really like to use this software. Can anyone help me? Thanks!!!!

I'm not one to advertise for someone else but at the sametime i know how much it can cost to run a website.
I found bluehost to be the best out of the 2 listed above.
for the price your paying they provide alot...storage wise alone doubled what the above 2 services are providing.. look for yourself

again, i'm not promoting bluehost but rather helping out someone who can put out alot of money to run a site.

I have shared hosting.
running dolphin
and everything seems to be working fine for see more $70US

If you're willing to eventually help me install Dolphin for free and to provide some honest form of online help, I'm willing to provide you with webhosting for at least a year for free.

After which, I'll provide you the service at cost price. Let me know if you're willing to take this up. Email kq@kquee.com

You can actually use your own computer as a server to set your site for free. All the directions are at this link: http://www.boonex.org/2007/08/07/those-interested-in-hosting-raydolphinorca-wamp5/

Don't make the mistake of wasting time on a costly server setting up your site. Once you have it set up you ought to be able to transfer the whole site to any host provider who can run Dolphin almost immediately, and there are a lot of cheap ones.

As far as bandwidth goes you will not use much see more of that for at least several months if not longer.

You can always move up to a larger plan once you begin to need it or even out right buy your own server...which a lot of people are starting to do. But don't buy anything you are not going to use right away thinking your site will have a huge membership with in a month. It is going to take you quite a bit longer...trust me on that.

Happyhosting.com can run Dolphin and is very cheap. $120 a year but you can not install Ray Media Server yourself because they do not even provide shell access. So you would have to have someone who works with them do it. I used this person who was excellent: http://www.expertzzz.com/expertsaccount/profile/praveenkv1988

Hope that helps.

Hi seems a lot of hosting choices here are talked about. I am looking for a host to switch our existing community over to dolphin and a new host. While numbers will go down our present traffic is 5 to 6 million page views a month with 30 million + hits, We provide about 12 million ad impressions for our advertisers with just over 12,000 members at this time. I need hosting, mysql transfer help as we have to dump and install about 15 dbs and transfer 6 domains to the new server and then tie them all see more into the dolphin setup. I am not looking for free help. I am looking for experienced professional hosting and support that can be reached via phone not email or trouble tickets. message me here if you can offer these for a reasonable price. Hosting is secondary as we can always continue with our present host.

Stay away from Gigapros. They promise a lot but speed sucks. I made several complaints about it and they keep telling me my site is loading fine. The hell it doesn't.
Today I switched to TMD hosting. Hope everything will improve now.

And just now Gigapros offered to put my site on another server which has less clients on it. So finally they admit that my site was always on an overloaded server.
Do they really think their customers are idiots ???
