Future Addons

I have 2 addition's I would like to see implemented into future dolphins whether it be modules or part of a paid dolphin. I have been looking around and found only 2 sites that have this option. 1 is just to join and another is to buy the software. Looking at Face Book's farm ville it seems people are starting to enjoy the virtual 3d interactive worlds.

Tell me what you think about adding a 3d city with chat and a pay-per-view chat section as well. Facebook makes good money off of others that like to purchase items for their farm and I think this can be created with 3d world as well.

We can offer additions to the 3d city for a small fee, like designs and apparel and maybe more, this would add more incoming income to our site.  I would be more then willing to purchase these additions if they were offered for Dolphin how about you?

I agree. I actually went to the developers site of Farmville http://www.zynga.com, and emailed the developers to see if there was any options to embed their games into other social networking sites.

Of course, I have yet to hear anything back :(

As much as I have heard about people being "addicted" to that game, it sure would be a GREAT enhancement. Maybe Boonex would have more luck then myself contacting them.

Yes I see where my online friends spend good money to purchase stuff for their farms and farm neighbors. Would be a awesome addition. You know us women we like to look good even in a virtual chat room..lol They will purchase anything that makes them look good.

LMAO, Hey us men have ALOT of work to do, to impress you lovely ladies too :)
LightWolf
Yes well then we should have a chip-n-dale section for you all to buy wardrobe..lmao

Those things you are requesting, I think, are all done in facebook's proprietary languages. Plus, maybe, you need to use other lauguages like ruby on rails. I only looked into it briefly but other things took my interest after looking. Sorry. I also found a new BeeGees clip.

Most such applications on Facebook run on a combination of Flash and PHP/MySQL or other such back-ends. Facebook doesn't have a language of its own, just a (rather elaborate) way to integrate applications into Facebook.

Creating something like this is a fairly involved process, and I suspect BoonEx wouldn't have the manpower to commit to such a thing at this point. Of course, if they can and wish to lease solutions from a third-party provider, that's another thing.

Yes I understand they have their hands full, but for the future or a developer this shows the interest in such additions.

very good suggestion... i already wish to had eventually this feature on my website... because abledating already give this feature with his dating script... a 3d city... the only problem i think will be the high ressource needed to run this kind of server
but im willing to give a try

Apparently this is an ABK produced piece of software called 3D city, based on Quest3D (http://quest3d.com/) engine. As far as I understand, most of the 3D processing happens at client end with the Q3D browser plugin.

To successfully develop something like this, you need a couple of developers who take it on as their main project, or otherwise a dedicated individual who has too much Coke and too little life in his system.

It is just a future idea, you make it sound like it cannot be done without a lot of hassle. Sure it will take time, no one is saying this would be a quick and easy thing to do, but it can be done and if a programmer is willing to do it, i am willing to pay for it.

I not only "make it sound like it cannot be done without a lot of hassle", I can guarantee that developing something like this from a scratch is a lot of hassle.

Believe me, I have nothing against something like this coming up. I'm just pinning down the realities, which I imagine is a good thing for every reason.

Seems to me, all you have to do is buy the product for $397. http://www.3d-city.net/ and let them integrate it into your site.... or am I missing something? It's just a chat system. I looked at the demo about 6 months ago, but the 3D city was deserted.... must have been some sort of pandemic.
LightWolf
And yes abledating is the only one with this, but it will soon take off and others will want this in their software also, so why not think about it now before more than 1 developer has this option.

They're not the only one for sure. I've seen social network services with the same idea ages ago. Habbo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habbo) comes to mind from early 2000s...

Actually those facebook games Mobsters, farmville etc, are in a way a social community of their own. The character, a few good gifts and points mods and you are half way there. I would be interested in working on something like that with a team if some are interested in forming one. I have been pondering that myself for a while now.

The 3d world sounds alot like second life if im reading this correct. I know there is alot of money spent on that site. I really cant stand farmvtown at all, but i know people are now spending money on that as well.

zynga folks are only working with single large networks like fb,tagged, myspace i dont see them hooking us up as a collection of mini social networks. but it would be nice as i have tried to get it on mysite as well dealing with poker and having it so that member can play each other as if it were live. kinda like a 5 player game when when u log on u can join a open table where other players are playing. next hand and u are dealt in. Chips could be free or u can buy more chips to play with and take see more your earnings and buy virtual gifts. I i would never buy any cuz i think its silly to do so but based on what i see on other sites people do and in a big way
