Free License for Every 50 Points. Thank You!

Andrew Boon posted 11th of May 2009 in . 45 comments.

The last part of today's bonanza is that we've given one license for every 50 points generated in Unity before now. One time action again, but some of you scored over 20 licenses! Great job!

Thank you so much for working with us and for your continued support!

Three thumbs up.

What a great way to start the day :D

wow well that saves me sending the email i just spent 15 minutes writing lol i was installing 6.1.5 for a new site with one of the licenses i got the other day, and as i was looking for the number, there was a shit load all saying unregistered and i thought WTF?

i am gobsmacked, and yes i got well over 20 licenses, i shall continue to support boonex and keep buying contributor stars and posting advice as well as the dolphin for dummies guide in Trac.

Thank you Boonex.
wow ^^^^ those words see more seem so little to express how greatful and thankful i am.

Wow is right! I did not receive the license I purchased last week yet. Please consider that payment as an extra donation along with the one I just made. Disregard the prior email asking about that license as I only wanted a single domain license and thank you for your generosity.
totallyfreak
ok so if i got 112 points thats mean i got 2 license??
sammie
on your profile, you have Member points: 112

so you got 2 free

I gotta ask.... What dipshit would give Sammie a negative vote for answering someone's question correctly?? WTF is wrong with some of you? I swear, if assholes could fly, this place would be an airport.
sammie
you want names?

medinainteractive
I"m a super noob stuck doing client projects! how do i get points so i can launch my own before i get priced out?

Unoboonex, This could be a great incentive to drum up support for the forums (provided that forum points can be tallied up of course). Why not retain an incentive scheme such as this - free monthly / annual licenses for worthy contributors.

Experts Exchange works in a similar manner - membership is free provided that you earn above a certain threshold of points.

DM.

Cool - smart move Andrew. I didn't realize how many member points I had - never paid much attention to that. Thank you for listening to your community.
mickscool
Just missed out on the points, just had 42 :(

Or, I could have got a second free license for my second domain
CALTRADE
I just missed one too Mick. I had 247 member points, but would have had more had I not gotten so many negative votes for expressing my opinion on this subject. It was worth it though as this has worked out for almost everyone. Send Boonex a few bucks donation to get a license for your other domain if you need it.
mickscool
Actually already sent the donation, this was for the second domain :)
sammie
you mean like the ones you were dishing out to everyone?

as i said before, the thumbs down does not take a point away from you. it only shows on the post, it does not affect your member points total. so you lost nothing
Synergy
Wonderful, you all deserved it!

You are "BADE DIL WALA" unoboonex.

In INDIA we say this to the person "WHO HAVE BIG HEART"

Warm Regards.
okweb
WOW Thank you Boonex
I shall continue to support Boonex and will buy contributor stars when the time is there.
CALTRADE
The point system is not perfect. I just checked Okweb's page and he has 67- so he got at least one license, but that doesn't show how much he has contributed. I think Boonex should know, that Okweb has been a fantastic contributor to this community - in fact, I think one of the best. He does mods that are great and always shares with the community. He is one of he most helpful people on Unity.
sammie
we agree on something for once.
he posts in the forums mostly and those points do not count here on the blogs
tomg
Thanks to Boonex!!
Regards Tom
BirdTribes
Please post a link to a page that explains how to get points! It took me a few minutes to figure out where to even check how many points I have. (Go to http://www.boonex.com/unity/yourusername ).
Thanks Boonex for your generousity.
mickscool
I agree, I did not knew how to get member points otherwise I could have also gained some points :)
sammie
member points are earned with a thumbs up on your posts, the thumbs down does not take a point of you. but the thumbs up gives you a point, and the forums votes do not count toward it
mickscool
Thanks Sammie
I have 51 points now :)
very nice...couldnt find my points....thx birdtribes...didnt make it myself...but cool idea and glad for those who it helped out...
DosDawg
and there is no apology for calling them scammers. what an asinine disposition in life that must be. and bashing the name of this community, you make your statement as if it was owed to you.

tsk tsk!

Regards, and Thank You Boonex
