Dolphin uploading video yielding error of "undefined"

jchase003 posted 8th of April 2008 in Community Voice. 20 comments.
So I have just setup another community running the latest version of Dolphin. Installed - 6.0.0005
I have my video upload limits set to 20 MB. I have two communities with the same host, same settings. One will let me upload, but this verison is generating an erro after the file has been uploaded. It just has a pop up box of "undefined". I'm even uploading the same video file for posterity. I have included a screenhost which can be seen here http://tinyurl.com/5wp9j6.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

Thanks,
Josh

My guess is that the connection timeout for MySQL is too short. I had this same issue and inceased the connection wait timeout parameter and that solved the problem. What you will notice is that smaller video files will upload while large ones get the undefined error.
jchase003
Ok, can you tell me where you changed the connection timeout?

Thanks for your response, I was wondering why this was happening.

It's a MySQL parameter. You'll need to set the parameter in the ini file for MySQL, my.cnf in the /etc directory. I set the wait timeout as follows:

wait_timeout=300

You'll need to restart MySQL for the new parameter to be picked up.

Wazoo, thanks for the tip. I will give this a shot. Thanks again.

No problem. Let me know if that works out for you.

Same problem.. mysql.timeout is set to 300 in my.cnf, post_max_size = 80M, upload_max_filesize = 80M, mysql.connect_timeout = -1 in php.ini, but..
I can upload only one movie, no matter of his extension or size.

I`ve reinstalled many times, on different servers with different distros, but nothing. Now i use CentOS 4.4.

Any help is appreciated, i`m running out of ideas.
Thanks!

I have a similar issue.
I can upload large files (over 100MB) just fine.

I now have one that is 130MB and it starts loading and gets about 7 percent done and then the black box pops up stating error uploading file.

I have gone back after this and uploaded other large files with no problems. My settings should allow files up to 200MB to be uploaded. Any suggestions?

(I am new - just installed dolphin 3 days ago, so i do have the newest version with ads for now).

Does anyone from Boonex ever answer these?

This seems to be a ongoing problem. I believe that it should be placed on the front burner. One of the main selling points of this software is it's video capabilities.
This is another reason we buy Ray is for the Video.
This problem may be Rayz and not Boonex. I have tried different things and sometimes success, and other times undefined. I just uploaded around 10 files, and five went through and 5 didn't. Some were rather large, and others were between 5 and 9 mins, and some of them died. So..... see more I run other video streaming software, and no problem on this server.

It's frustrating guys. If you expect to sell this wonderful product, well, lets get on Ray or find a solution. Dolphin and Orca work fine, but this is a serious problem. This could cut in the bottom line. There are several social scripts out there.

This is about to make the difference between me buying a whole load of ad-free licenses or not and I can't honestly believe this issue hasn't been resolved yet. I have spent the best part of a full day trying to track this problem and despite having came across many threads on these forums there only seem to be one solution that someone offers for sale which seems a little strange given that these issues should not need "fixes" or "workarounds" but straight patches or updates see more from Boonex themselves. Boonex, you are loosing people and subsequent revenue with your inability to answer peoples queries and I for one don't intend on investing in a system which 1. doesn't work and 2. isn't being dealt with or at least doesn't appear to be being dealt with. It's your choice at the end of the day not to deal with issues such as this but it's our choice also to look for another system which does work. Very poor show as far as I'm concerned.

look i'm gonna say that to get the best suppoert with this ask for help in the answers section. But just as a tip tyry changing the php.ini file in you PHP directory to allow bigger uploads
ohwhatthehell
ray/global/app/files........change permission on ffmpeg.exe to 777
ray/global/chat/files......change files permission to 777
ray/global/app/files do the same
ray/global/app/im do the same
ray/global/app/movie do the same
ray/global/app/mp3 do the same
ray/global/app/music do the same
Change the "file" folder permissions on all of those to 777.

.htaccess file in the root folder -
From line 3 to line 14 put this there:

<IfModule mod_php4.c>
php_flag register_globals see more Off
</IfModule>
<IfModule mod_php5.c>
php_flag allow_url_include Off
php_flag register_globals Off
php_value upload_max_filesize 20M
php_value post_max_size 20M
php_value output_buffering On
php_value max_execution_time 600000000
php_value max_input_time 700000000
php_value session.gc_maxlifetime 14400000

You can change the size and time to what you want. It all worked for me and my site is fully functional.
I hope that helped.
