Dolphin Scalability & Speed?

I am new to Boonex and have read that Dolphin has some issues with scalability and speed.  Scalability is really important to me.  I've read that Dolphin should only be used for communities with fewer than 500,000 people.  Why is this?  Does anybody know of modifications that will increase the scalability and speed of dolphin?  Or should I just wait for shark to be released?
Thanks,
Jonathan

I would intrested in seeing where you read that. My understanding is that Dolphin was just upgraded to also handle a cluster configuration. Based on knowing a few things about clustering I suspect but don't know for sure that the Dolphin is now limited only based on the number of servers in the cluster.

thanks for the comment zorro,
I read that on the old boonex.org blog in a comment about an article on shark being very scalable for enterprise level networking. I can't find the article now and I couldn't find much out there so i decided to see if anyone on unity knew. Thanks

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
