Dolphin 7 (Hookie) Private Preview

A very raw and shaky version has been installed and some people have received the link. If you didn't, PLEASE don't get mad. It's just that we've been in closer contact with some members/partners and they are likely to stand the jerkiness of the early build. Let them do the hard work ;) .

Public preview is quite close as well and along with the link we'll inform you about licensing terms and further development roadmap.

All links have been sent out by now, just hang tight a little bit longer and we will all get to see this new awesome Dolphin. I'm sure the people that got the links are the ones that do most of the work on them for others. Webmasters will have to wait a bit long I'm afraid. I am just as anxious as you all to see the new dolphin,but will keep myself busy with other parts of my website tell then. WELL FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS!!

for me must haves are groups blogs,forums all the basic goodies that us users on pc take for granted. I will require them to work on my mobile site aswell. I know my deveoloper is trying to accomodate me in my needs but i hope Boonex recognizes the importance of a fully functioning version of Dolphin/orca/ray. As mobile users far out number pc users in the web today and these numbers grow year by year. In order to be competitive Boonex must keep up with the times. see more And all ordinary users of the mobile web can not afford a iphone.

I am pleased to see a forward motion in the deveolopment of V7 but i am waiting patiently to see how much better and different the new software will be..

I'm hoping that checks are in place so that when a feature is disabled in the admin, that it can't be accessed by going directly to the URL. This isn't done in the latest version of 6.

Just now finally publishing "a raw and shaking version" doesn't sound like you are anywhere new keeping the schedule that has repeatedly slipped for the last eight months. Even this link is a week later than just promised. Have any of the people who are reviewing this built business sites using Dolphin? There are not that many of us. Without that you could have some major omissions. Also, what are these licensing terms that you are going to "inform us" about - I thought there see more was not going to be any major change in licensing policy?

As long as men (straight) can see anything else than only women (straight) profiles, as long as women (straight) can see anything else than men (straight) profiles, gays anything else than only other gays and lesbis anything else than only other lesbis... As long as Dolphin is missing such most basic feature, it will remain a beautiful toy but certainly not THE software to run any Dating site :-((

Yes would be nice of the testers to throw us a crumb and let us know what they think of D7. I m still waiting on an important response from Boonex on the profile builder. But they won't put me out of my misery. Come on Boonex i just asked one simple question about the builder, i'm not asking to give away country secrets...geez...

I'm gonna advice you to wait till the new version drops. A lot of us are not doing anything major to our sites now because we know we will have to maybe do a fresh installation of the new version as soon as it is released. Just wait it out, shouldn't be that long anymore.

i know it is not the best blog to put request.... but i just wondering if the new version of dolphin will include more payment gateway choice??? i hope that ALERTPAY will be included... because its the same thing that paypal... exept they accept dating website and adult dating website.... so i think its better to add alertpay than paypal into the script... because anyway paypal dont accept community dating website.... read the rules!!

Just out of curiosity what are all the new features that will DEF be making it into D7 I have heard rumor from Dennis & Tadeo, about OpenID support, support for the OpenSocial API and all the social networking apps that work on MySpace & Facebook. I heard that ray is included so the chat, messenger, A/V chat, chatrooms & private messenging actions like you can do on MySpace will now be contact options in D7 without having to pay the rediculous $40 for EVERY component of the Ray Suite. see more (But i doubt we're going to get all of Ray for free, but it would be nice). I've heard possibly the ability to add profile types, similar to AntonLV's Profile splitter that is SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME!!! But is there a list of all the proposed new features that are "Supposed" to be making it into this version. Also can I possibly get one of these shaky but functional none the less D7 versions to checkout and tear down as well. I'd like to put it through a few simulated Hacker RAPINGS on my webserver. Also, did you fix the MYSQL injections on this version from the start or is that going to be in the VERY FIRST patch for this version as well. I would think that whatever wound up in the first few patches of the last 3 versions, would be something you would want to pay extra special attention to NOT HAVING TO HAVE A PATCH FOR IT IN FUTURE VERSIONS. But then again thats just my logical self talking :-D

And to all those people who seem like they have nothing more constructive to comment on than the fact its not released yet or how boonex is missing another deadline, let me remind you noone is stopping you from going and creating your own community suite of social networking software to distribute for free. So if you arent making incredibly awesome software to be distributed to the masses for free then why dont you take a chill pill or 4 and relax. Dont you think they would have LOVED to have had it ready to release already and would LOVE to meet their deadlines every time. But personally i would rather them take their very valuable time and get the FIRST release correct and as close to flawless as possible, because i think we will all agree as great as 6.1 was, our nagging, bitching & complaining about the delays didnt get us anything more than a prematurely released product that we all then spent months complaining needed patches for very simple silly stuff, when if we had just left them alone to do their job in silence, sure it may have taken a smidgen longer, but my bet is we wouldnt have needed fixes we did at an almost instantaneous rate. Lesson that WE ALL SHOULD HAVE LEARNED...LEAVE THEM ALONE.

And a personal comment from me...NICE WORDS OR NO WORDS PEOPLE. Didnt your kindergarten teacher teach you anything?

Is it strange I wished we had just a stable / fast version with only the basic dating functionality and without all shit like Orca and Ray what makes all sites looks like the same? the developers are so quiet they didn't even released the type of license as if we expect a big surprise.. hopefully not a bad one.. and just like them the "unknown chosen ones" are fleeing from this blog after they have tested the "big surprise script" with the "big surprise license"...
don't say that mambo-jumbo thing about competition.. the release is seconds away..

try to invest some money in advertising (online), decide what will be the target of people you want to register on your website - then focus on selecting some keywords and improve your google search position for those words.. and change the layout colors, is proven that people prefer brighter templates.. read all you get about web design philosophy, branding, social networks etc... is good to know your "environment" to "survive"... if you have more money hire a professional web see more designer to do all this..

as for the boonex team .. GO BOONEX GO BOONEX !! i have been waiting this for sooo long that i can`t wait !!
But there are few features i want dolpnin to have
1) better moderator panel !
2) users to be able to delete coments from their profiles blogs and etc ..
3) beter video & player !
4) picture & video & music see more galleries not just one ( galeries for user profiles too ! )
5) make it work with vBulletin as forumscript !
well i thnk thats it ..

im not agree with aviatrix about the ability to member to delete comment on their profile... comment are use to member to tell to other how the member is acting on the website... so if its a dumb ass... people need to know.... so of course the bad user will remove all the bad comment...

on ebay the seller can remove bad comment??? no they have to live with that... good and bad comment..... only the admin could be able to remove it....

I have been reading everything about the release for quite sometime. The problem is that so many peoples social sites are suffering from it right now. expertzzz.com is suffering as well. No one is making progress with their sites and no one is modding there sites. I love the software, but dang the boonex communitys are suffering developmental and Social. I am waiting for v7 as well to start my other sites. I just feel like pulling my hair in anger, excitement, or uncertainty if this will show see more up soon enough. Now the only plus side that I have going for me is that I have talked to a couple of Developers and they are loving it enough to wait for themselves. Just my 2 cents :). -Ted

Excellent point Ted! No one is doing mods anymore, and it has been extremely frustrating waiting through these repeated long delays. Did you notice how long this has slipped even from the last blog - we were all supposed to have seen it a few weeks ago now. I don't know who they are using for feedback on business, because there are only a few of us.

we should see the preview till this Friday (10 days after private preview), too bad this community lacks transparency and cooperation, everybody hides behind their fingers, no one is really involved in this, they are all waiting a product to be released and then disappear this odd place.. it's sad that the owners don't try to change this situation by improving community relations.. it's all about money (as always), thank god for the "free monthly blog development updates"..
What about see more that "Unity", I can't see it's reflection near Boonex.com..

I know this is late, but it was only published a few weeks back, it is possible that websites that run affiliate schemes 'may' benefit from a better search engine weighting if they use canonical link tag.
