Dolphin 7.0.3 Status Update

Andrew Boon posted 22nd of September 2010 in . 20 comments.

Today we moved on to "Release" milestone for 7.0.3, but found a few minor issues during preliminary testing, and thus went back a few squares. We're very close anyway. There will be a short-term Beta release, too, since 7.0.3 packs a good lot of improvements and changes. Stay tuned!

For me, I am not interested in any beta's. I have made a number of mods to core code and it will be a nightmare upgrading, who wants to do this with a beta? okay if you have a test site, I suppose...
Andrew Boon
Chances are that your mods wouldn't be affected.

Some people don't mind trying beta, just to help us verify that the update is production-ready.

Great!!! I was afraid boon-ex was testing of what happens when nothing happens, lol (just kidding).
Anyway, great work and thanks for the update.
Yesterday I got scared when I couldn't access the site due to a gateway error.

Keep 'em coming.
Andrew Boon
Gateway error happens sometimes due to Trac malfunction (known bug, they're working on it). We're preparing our own meanwhile.

Andrew, a small question if you don't mind ( i posted it twice somewhere but no respons)
Its about the new forum features.

6. Back button functionality improvement.

This one i can not find in the online forum version on boonex.com .
By this you mean the backlinks above the forum or should back arrow in IE really work now (ajax !)?

Thanks

André

That means working browser back button, yes. We found some workarounds inspite of Ajax. Last few weeks of latest forum version showed that it provides perfectly smooth workflow. There's still room for improvement, but this update is really good.

Hello, Andrew

A question from me too, any improvements about seo ? have you added a "blank" index.html in the folders so google stop crawler inside them and show ugly links on google search engine ?

Regards
senna
Andrew thanks !
Only strange thing is i can hit the back button on browser but nothing happens (using IE8).
Only when i hit it 5 times really fast the it goes back.

thanks keep up the good work.

Can you create a forum when you get a chance to post in. Thanks

What's the easiest way to pull svn from trac? I'm finding it doesn't play well with tortoisesvn and I'd really like to get a hold of .3!

@jimie

You can easily do it by disabling Indexes option in Apache, for default Dolphin .htaccess file change this line:
Options -MultiViews
to this one:
Options -MultiViews -Indexes

To disable browsing files in all directories, if index.* is missing

@shnelson

Most of Dolphin developers playing with it pretty well.

hey!
If I do update to v3, will I have to do it again when stable version comes out, or I stay with the same one?
