Date of Birth vs Age AND All members now Featured Members

I have completed the patch from 6.0.0005 to 6.1.1 and have two issues.

1) There was a fix to prevent Date of Birth from showing and converting it to age to protect privacy.  I tried applying the same fix to 6.1.1 since the applicable code in inc/profiles.disp.inc.php did not appear to have changed in the section where DOB was revised to show age instead but it did not work.

2) Date of Birth is missing in all existing members.

3) After the upgrade, all of my members are showing up as Featured Members. I have tried to go in member by member to correct this but cannot since their dates of birth are missing and I don't have that information.

Any advice is appreciated.
