Boonex Unity In General

gameutopia posted 20th of January 2010 in Community Voice. 4 comments.

I don't frequent this Unity site whether it be blogs or forums that much anymore. I almost rarely make a post of my own and rarely reply to a post. Mostly because someone rips on it, argues and fights about who knows more or who is smarter or that kind of thing...which really isn't worth my time.

I pop in to see what is happening sometimes and move along if it's not worth it...which it usually is not worth it.

On a few occasions the past couple of weeks I have replied to a small amount of posts and the blog or thread seems to be deleted or non-existant anymore. I didn't think that it was a big deal at the time of replying, but they seem to be totally gone.

This is one of the main reasons why I do not spend much time here anymore. I know it is just a reply, but when I reply to something which is time consuming to have it disappear...Then once again I find this place not that friendly, nor do I feel like wasting my time here for the benefit of nobody if it gets deleted.

I have more important things to do with my time.

You all should thank the posters that give their free time and expertise to report and figure things out that ultimately benefit this community for all and their interest in dolphin. Without them this the whole community would fail.

Most likely I will not frequent this blog post to see the status...Because it's not worth it. I have a number of other more important things to work on a the moment, but I do wish you all good luck with your new Dolphin 7.

I am still here just not as active or frequenting unity as much as I used to. I am busy with d7, but pop in here when I have a spare moment.

You hit the nail on the head gameutopia - they have gotten very trigger happy on killing blog posts here, and there is no consistency at all in the ones they pick to be censored. I can see occasionally killing a forum discussion thread that gets out of hand or that has inappropriate language, but I always thought blogs were different - more personal. When they delete a blog post they drive home the point that it really isn't your blog - and you are right, you are wasting your time by posting see more it. I only have about a 50 percent success rate in getting my blogs published here - the rest have been deleted. People who don' t like what you say can also get your post deleted by attacking or using foul language in the comments, then Boonex will also censor the post, even if you really did nothing wrong. You are right also - when you reply to a blog post that they don't like for one reason or another, you have totally wasted your time. I remember making a long post about how to safely move Boonex from one directory to another that they deleted the next day - totally wasting my time. Sorry you won't be posting here much anymore - I always found your opinions to be insightful, and I know you have helped many members here - including me.

Hmmmm, and I always thought that Boonex/Unity was in Australia ???
That type of behavior is something that you'd expect to see out of a site from ... CHINA ... where sensorship runs rampant.
You're absolutely right, Caltrade. Blogs are indeed supposed to be personal and to delete personal blog efforts is just plain wrong as long as the "blog provider" has rules which are being followed. That's the thing that makes forums different from blogs since forums are commonly designed to be edited/corrected forum wide by a team, while blogs are only supposed to be edited by the owner of his or her personal message (if the rules are being followed). On the other hand, if there is no set of rules that is set by the blog provider, then it's kind'a stupid to offer the ability to blog in the first place since your blogging members are always at risk of having the carpet yanked from under their feet. SHAME ON SUCH BEHAVIOR !!!

Hmm, I prefer to support boonex via buying or using their software and communicating directly with them. This is my first reply in almost half a year. Gameutopia, a lot of the people who really believe in Boonex (including the "oldies") totally understand what you mean.
