6.1 < 404 errors - HTML email - wrong links

Hiuall,

We installed 6.1 fresh from scratch. Everything is working fine but these issues here remain and we do not know what to do about it.
- When I click GROUPS or PHOTOS, I get an 404 error
- When you click ARTICLES or EVENTS or BLOGS it brings you to the "view profile" page. 

It seems that all links that do not have a .php extension fail or lead to the wrong pages.

Question:
- How can I have the system send out only HTML notifications, no TEXT emails?
-  Is the "PLEASE WAIT" that appears when pages a change a .gif? If yes, where is it located. We would like to change it.

NOTE --
I saw some comments that were fairly rough, about the new 6.1 or Dolphin in general. I have some of those too but hey ... people got to realize that this is actually a great-large software that is updated nicely by the Dolphin team - gotta give it to them, they do a great job and bugs a part of the deal.

It'd be kind of like complaining on the plane to the airline that you caught a flu :-)
