Spider Web allows site administrators to monitor the content of their site by preventing the publishing of material that contains certain keywords/phrases, emails or website links. The module uses the Alerts Engine so there is no need to modify core Dolphin files.
KEYWORDS/PHRASES
Administrator can create and manage a list of offensive keywords that should not be posted in site content or used in private communication. You can choose to ban single words or entire phrases.
EMAIL ADDRESSES
Administrator can choose to restrict the posting of emails in site content or in private communication.
LINKS
Administrator can choose to restrict the posting of website links in site content or in private communication.
The module can work in one of two modes :
1) You can choose to replace the offending words/phrases with a placeholder but still allow the content to be posted. See example below :
- a) you setup crap as a bad word.
- b) you setup **** as the place holder.
- c) now if someone makes a forum post that says ... "I do not like the crap that happens here", it will automatically be posted as "I do not like the **** that happens here"
2) You can choose to have all content with offending words/phrases reviewed by Administrator before being posted. See example below :
- a) you setup slut as a bad word.
- b) now if someone creates an Event that has the word slut as part of the Title or Description, that Event listing will automatically go into pending status and must be reviewed by Administrator before being posted. After Review, Administrator has the option to either publish the listing or delete it and take action against the poster.
By default, the mod monitors :
Simple Messenger
Timeline/Wall Posts
Comments
Inbox Messages
Classified Ads
Store listings
Event listings
Group listings
Site listings
News listings
Article listings
Poll items
Blog Posts
Forum Posts
Media Posts (Sound, Video, File and Photo)
If you have third party modules, there is an Administration management section that allows you to integrate them with Spider Web. This is suitable for modules with a group-like structure.
For a particular keyword, Administrator can choose to monitor all modules or they can select a subset of modules to be monitored. For example, you might allow certain words to be used if members are communicating with each other by private message but prevent those words from being used in public postings such as Forum posts or Event listings.
Administrator can choose to check if the keyword is found in the Title or Description of a post (or both).
Administrator is notified whenever content on the site is flagged as offensive.
Administrator can choose to notify the offender that content they posted on the site has been flagged as offensive.
Auto Purging
All offending data is made available in the Admin section for the Administrator to review and decide if they want to take some action against the member. The administrator can configure a time span (eg. 30 days) in which this data is purged if it has not been reviewed.
Administration Management
Administrator can enable/disable sections of the site (Polls, Ads etc.) that should be managed.
Administrator can view all offensive items and take appropriate action.
Administrator can view a historical list of all resolved items.
