Offline Payments

Many pay sites lose potential earnings because a lot of their potential members cannot pay by Credit Card. If these sites had alternative methods of collecting payment, their revenue could have been significantly increased.

This plugin allows Dolphin based websites to now accept Offline Payments through various methods: Cash, Check or Money Order, Bank Transfer, Online Money Transfer and Voucher Codes.

Each of these Offline Payment options can be enabled/disabled separately site-wide.

Each of these Offline Payment options can also be enabled/disabled Membership Level. For example, you could allow persons to pay for Silver membership via Voucher Code but they would have to pay by Bank or Money Transfer only for Gold Membership etc.)


Payment by Voucher Code

Administrator can generate single Voucher Codes or batches of Codes.

For Single Codes the administrator can configure that the same code can be redeemed by multiple unique members.

Voucher codes have a lifeline (Start and Expiry dates).

All generated Codes can be exported into spreadsheet.

The Codes can be distributed to potential members via various means.



Payment by Bank Wire Transfer

A bank wire transfer is an electronic method of transferring funds from one person's account to another. Wire transfers are typically one of the quickest ways to transfer funds between banks.

If this payment method is used, the administrator will activate it in the settings and will enter instructions that will be seen when the members attempt to pay via this method. The instruction will typically include personal account details for the Website and SWIFT code details for the bank.


Payment by Money Transfer

Services such as Western Union and MoneyGramm allows persons to transfer money to persons at other locations swiftly and conveniently.

If this payment method is used, the administrator will activate it in the settings and will enter instructions that will be seen when the members attempt to pay via this method. The instruction request the member to provide personal contact details along with the Transaction number for the transaction.


Payment by Cash

This is the most straight-forward method of paying for any service but the most insecure.

If this payment method is used, the administrator will activate it in the settings and will enter instructions that will be seen when the members attempt to pay via this method.


Payment by Check or Money Order

A cheque is a document that orders a payment of money from a bank account. The person writing the cheque, has a transaction banking account where their money is held. The drawer writes the various details including the monetary amount, date, and a payee on the cheque, and signs it, ordering their bank, to pay that person or company the amount of money stated.

A money order is a payment order for a pre-specified amount of money. As it is required that the funds be prepaid for the amount shown on it, it is a more trusted method of payment than a cheque. A money order is purchased for the amount desired.

If this payment method is used, the administrator will activate it in the settings and will enter instructions that will be seen when the members attempt to pay via this method.


How Does Payment work ?

If a member decides to pay for a particular membership via voucher code, they will enter a Voucher Code in the payment form provided. The system will check if the code is valid (not expired and not redeemed already). If the code is accepted, the member is automatically upgraded to the membership level paid for.

If a member decides to pay for a particular membership via other methods (except voucher), they will follow the instruction provided in the payment form. After submission, the payment is flagged as pending until the Administrator actually receives the payment. The Administrator will then flag the payment as completed and the member is upgraded to the membership level paid for.


Payment Status

These are the various stages that a payment can go through.

Pending - Offline payment is expected but is not yet received.
Complete - Offline payment has been received and processed.
Cancelled - Offline payment was received and processed but was subsequently reversed for some reason.
Void - Offline payment was never received and can now be ignored.
