Garage Sales

This is basically a merger of our Events and Classifieds modules with additional features to facilitate Garage Sales.

A garage sale (also known as an attic sale, junk sale, lawn sale, moving sale, patio sale, thrift sale, or yard sale) is an informal, irregularly scheduled event for the sale of used goods by private individuals, in which sellers are not required to obtain business licenses or collect sales tax.

Give your members the chance to publicize and advertise their personal Garage Sales.

Members can create listings with Start/End dates and time. They can also indicate a fallback date in case it rains. In addition, they can state the type of payments that will be accepted and whether or not buyers can come before the actual start time to browse through items.

LOCATION MAPPING - Apart from the Google Map that appears for each listing, the street address is also linked to MapQuest so that potential shoppers can get additional Mapping and Driving directions to the location of the Sale.


RECURRING GARAGE SALES - The host can setup a Garage sale to occur weekly, by-weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually. Whenever the listing expires, the Start and End dates are automatically updated to the next occurrence. Participants from the previous occurrence of the sale are automatically notified of the new date.


LISTING OF PROMINENT ITEMS - The host may want to highlight certain items that will be available at the sale. The mod has the ability to create a dedicated page for individual items with description and Photo Gallery.


REVIEW OF GARAGE SALES - Persons can choose to leave feedback on a Garage Sale they have attended. The feedback can include a Rating and the person can also state whether or not they recommend attending Garage Sales being hosted by this same person.

HOME PAGE - Sales Listings block that allows toggling between featured, recent, upcoming and sales happening today.

ACCOUNT PAGE - "Sales Listings in My Area" block displays the Sales Listings located in the same City that the member is located.

• Google Maps Block.


• Description Block.


• More Local Sales Listings Block - This lists other Sales Listings located in the same City as the Sale Listing being viewed.


• Other Sales Listings by member Block - This lists other Garage Sales posted by the host.


• Contact Block - Displays information such as Name, Email, Website etc for the host.


• Location Block - Displays information such as Country, State, Address etc for the Sale.

FEATURED LISTINGS - Administrator can optionally configure the module so that listings posted by Premium Membership levels are automatically featured.

MEDIA GALLERY

• Ability to upload a Gallery of Photos and Videos to show off the Items that will be on sale.


• Also has the ability to embed Youtube Videos and save on server space.

FEEDBACK - Members can Rate and Comment on Sales Listings.

INQUIRY FEATURE - Members can Request more information about a Sale Listing.

PROMOTION AND SHARING - Members can Share Sales Listings with other site members or external friends.

SOCIAL SHARING - Allows sharing of the Garage Sale on Twitter, Facebook and other popular networks.

BROADCASTING - The host can broadcast messages to persons who have indicated that they will attend.

FORUM - Forum integration to facilitate members wishing to engage in discussions about a particular Sales listing.

SEARCH - Ability to search for Garage Sales taking place at a particular location (Country, State, City)

PREMIUM FEATURE

The mod is integrated with the Membership level system so the Administrator can decide who has access to contact the persons hosting the sale. So it is possible to limit viewing of Contact details and Location to Premium Members only.
