Ask the Expert module allows your site to be used as a portal to provide online help. Members will submit questions to a specific expert unlike Yahoo Answers model where questions are posted generally and anybody answers.
Your site could become the favorite place on the Web that persons can tap into to find expert help for any kind of topic .... or you can chose to isolate it to a particular niche (eg. Medical Experts or Dog Community etc.) You may opt to allow members in the Role of Experts or you may chose to use only Administrators as Experts.
PAID SERVICES (OPTIONAL)
Administrator can activate paid functionality which will allow experts to offer their services for a cost.
Experts would specify the Amount of Credits needed to access their services.
When a Question is answered, the specified Credits would be debited from the Asker Account and Credited to the Expert Account.
Our Credits Module is needed to utilize this option.
ASKING QUESTIONS
Members can search for relevant experts by browsing based on the Categories/Sub-Categories
They can choose an Expert of their liking to ask a question.
The member can choose to post their location and/or contact information. Additionally, they can opt to post the question Anonymously (the identity of the Asker is not revealed).
Once a question is asked, it is added to a pool of pending questions for that particular Expert. Only the Expert (and anyone else who was chosen to administer the expert's profile) will be able to view the pending questions.
The expert chooses questions from the pending pool and answer them and those questions are subsequently published. The asker of the question is notified of the response.
REVIEWS
Members who have used the services of an Expert can post a Review.
A review will contain the following components :
a) Feedback
b) Pros
c) Cons
d) Rating (1 - 5 scale)
e) Whether the Expert is recommended to others
DONATIONS
Ability for Experts to accept Donations via Paypal. They simply enter their Paypal details and members who they have helped can make contributions to their account.
Donations can be made Anonymously.
CATEGORIES/SUB-CATEGORIES
A thorough listing of Categories along with their associated sub-categories are available to choose from. Experts can therefore choose their best fitted area of expertise when publishing a profile. Additionally, when asking a question
SOCIAL SHARING, BROADCASTING and INVITATION
Allows sharing of the page on Twitter, Facebook and other popular networks.
Page administrators can broadcast messages to their fan base.
Persons can invite others to check out a page.
