You have to think of something unique about your site and target audience.
What made facebook to outshine myspace... myspace launched its site far back then, giving each member a free personal space or profile, facebook came out giving users a free personal profile + letting them know what each of their friends are doing at the moment. With that little second idea, they captured the market.

you have to think out of the box to get something successful. LinkedIn.com , Ebay.com, Alibaba.com see more and other business social networks could be a starting point in your research for ideas or you could just come up with some radical new idea. But definitely you have to go a step beyond the normal

All other extra features can be built around it once you've gotten the main concept or driving force for your new website.

Best Regards,

Thank you for the response and advice, I am looking to create a central hub for businesses, to connect buyers and sellers of commercial surplus, salvage and secondary assets. Combining a Salvex.com, SalvageSale.com, AssetBuyer.com and providing a user friendly platform for the buyers and sellers to communicate decide if auctioning off a bulldozer will produce a higher yield than selling it to one of their top 5 buyers.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
