Birthdate Block - Remove Popup Calendar

I would like to get rid of the pop-up birthdate calendar on the join and edit profile pages and simply use input fields instead.  This would be identical to Myspace and Facebook where the user selects the Month, Day & Year from drop-downs for their birthdate.
