White Board

I have been thinking what to do with this white board module, it seems like it could be useful but then i just can't seem to do much with it. Anyway I have decided to try to turn it into a kind of 'Pin Board' for members wishes and confessions (you know, like I love bob and i killed my girlfriends gold fish') and use the saved bit as the pin board. BUT, I can't find how to change a few things like, change the 'All Boards' to ' Pin Board' and the 'New Board' to 'New Post it' and make it so they can post them anonymously if they want. I have got that the board is flash, is there a way to change the feel and look of it?  The save button is very hard to find, its hidden in plain sight, i would love to change that

Can you send a link so I can see what you did with the white board?

This post makes me think of why I stopped using that module. Wonder if this can still happen with 7.1?

So why didn't the module developer step in with that problem?  If licenses are to be $399; the crossed out price, then a little better help should be forthcoming.  The Whiteboard developer should know exactly how the f-ing thing works and could have said, oh, you need to go here and do this and do that.  Or, should have step forward and said, oops, looks like I have a bug in my module I need to fix.

@Voni - If you are wanting to change some of the language, you will need to edit the:

/flash/modules/boards/langs/english.xml

Here you can search 'All Boards' and 'New Board' to make the changes.

 there is no way to change it, most likely because its in a flash file and i don't have the skill to de-compile it and re-compile. I tried changing the file you suggested but now them menu is  broken :(  all the sub items on the menu bar are now sat underneath other on show instead of hidden until i click them. I have returned the language file back to normal but the problem remains, i have also clear cashe.  The problem is only with the items and sub items i have manually made. The items on the menu bar that are dolphin default are unaffected

I won't say the whiteboard is completely useless, but it's close.  Trying to get ANY improvement to ANY  of the flash apps, is impossible.  I've been trying to get Boonex to do some things with chat for four years, and they have chose to ignore any any all requests for improvements.

As for the whiteboard, about 4 years ago I requested that support for third party symbol libraries be added.  Things like schematic symbols, flow chart symbols, landscaping symbols, etc, would transform the whiteboard into something more than the simple toy it is now.  As it is, it might provide some amusement for a small child, but that's about it.

Is it possible that Boonex lost their flash developer?

maybe some cleaver soul out there can develop a skin to make me a confessions and dreams post it board. It is a toy Huston, very much so but it could at least be made a fun toy lol

 That would be "Rayz" and he is not gone, he just does not add or keep up with current features.

Rayz sells you "extra" modules that should be core, this is a big boooo on his part, anyway his modules look like high school experiments that never get completed.

Now for a fee, yes, you can get some things done, good luck with that though.

Just ask any member that has been around.

I have a question, are the Boonex team volunteers on the Dolphin project?

The double posting bug in the Chat module is not a new issue.  I would think a coder would not want bugs in his/her code.  This would make me question buying any modules this person has in the Market; although I have already purchased a few.  At least now I know if there are bugs in the modules I have purchased it is doubtful they will be fixed.

Speaking of the forum, that autopilot thing is as clunky as anything could be; just go to a forum topic that has been autopiloted six or seven times.  The forum is good enough for a social site; I would not even consider for two seconds using it as a solution for a serious forum site.

The forums i have not been able to use, its not very functional. The chat i use comet chat which is quite nice, and trying to find a use for whiteboard, i think it could be ok as a novelty if we was able to modify it ourselves a bit more

I found what I want! If any clever dolphin developers can make a module like this i would pay for it.
