Saving edited blog - javascript goes berserk

Creating and saving a blog is no problem.  Editing and saving is a different story.  Try it on demozzz.  Create a blog, edit it, then save.   All action buttons are then inoperative.  The blog page that you just edited is displayed, but the url in the browser address bar isn't right.

FF and IE behave differently.  See it for yourself.  Things are so out of whack, I don't even know how to explain it.

Note: I have applied Changeset 13432, but it does not have anything to do with this problem.

Can anyone confirm problems with editng a blog post and saving it?  Some days, everything I touch turns to crap, so It would be nice to know that it wasn't just me.

Yes there is a major issue.

I created a blog, it worked perfectly.  I went and edited the blog and after hitting submit I got the picture below.  As you can see the edited content was completely trashed and jibberish appeared on the site:

Glad it's not just me.  I also have that 'Create a blog' block at the bottom of the page.  It has no business being there, if all you're doing is 'editing' a blog.

The issue has been clearly stated.

First of all, go try it on demozzz, and not your local machine.  I don't have access to your local computer so I don't know if it has the same problem as demozzz.

Trust me.  There's a huge problem.

I tried to make a dupe of what you are saying about the editing of blogs. I posted a blog and I was able to edit it ok with out any problems. Works fine. I am playing with RC3.

It doesn't work on Boonex's own web site http://demozzz.com

Demozzz doesn't have the change set applied, so there's no TinyMCE when editing blogs, but that's an unrelated issue.  Editing a blog and saving on demozzz.com, reloads the page incorrectly, points to the wrong url, and all the action buttons don't work.

Blogs are very messed up and let me show you screens taken from demozzz showing all the issue.  You need to test editing the individual post, not the blog overview itself.

1st biggest issue.  IE8 CANNOT edit blogs, once the post is there if you are using IE8 you can't do anything to the post via the IE8 interface.  here is what is displayed, you will see what is causing the error is the javascript.  i tested this on 3 different machines so it is dolphin.

These issues are now with the latest FF

After editing a post in FF I get this page, the actions bar is all over the place and wants me to mak ea new blog within my bog entry page and it shows an error.  On this page most of the javascript is also disabled and the buttons do not work.  Why is the stuff in the red box even showing up??

The actions bar with create a blog shows up just like that when editing my blog entry, guess what happens when you type something into it?  Well there's a pic for that.  Why am I given the option to create a new blog while editing another blog entry?  Anyways here is what happens when you do try to create a blog within the blog entry edit:

An error occured, of course it occurred.  You shouldn't be able to create a new blog while trying to edit a blog entry.  This needs to be fixed.

Now lets move on to safari.  Well editing a blog works and doesn't show the actions bar after you edit the blog (though it still shows on the edit page which needs to be fixed).  Now I hit finish edit and it brings me to a page that is messed up as you can see in the different highlighted areas.  Further, not only is the java script and page completely messed up, none of the buttons or java on the page will work, you have to refresh the page to get it to be functional again.  The pic:

AS you can see My Blog Actions is empty and missing something apparently.  Categories and tags are mixing all over each other, there is a nice gray box with nothing in it in the middle of the screen, and to top it off, nothing on the page will work at all.

So I must highly disagree with Andrey when he says nothing is wrong.  All these were tested on 3 different machines with Windows 7, vista, and xp with the latest versions of the browser .

Personally I would find it very efficient to create one blog while I was editing another.  Just think about the time management issues that this will resolve for so many users.  Of course, it doesn't mean if you do both that it will actually create one and edit another simultaneously.  Maybe we should try it and see if it does that or what happens.

Refer to the ERROR OCCURED picture, that's what happens when you click on the second submit button, doesn't matter if you just put info in the 2nd part and did not edit the blog entry, or if you edited the blog entry and did not put anything in the second part to create a blog, or if you put information in both.  An error occurred is the result regardless.

But don't hijack the thread Frown this is to get boonex to admit that there is actually some things pretty messed up with blogs when you try to edit them and there are now more then enough pictures, taken from their site, to prove this point without further boonex denial.

@ AndreyP

Changeset 13280 has made a dramatic improvement.

However.... is there any way to display the correct block url in the browser address bar, once a blog edit is submitted.  I know with all the ajax flying around, things can get a bit tricky, but after a blog edit, the url in the browser address bar is always http://yoursite.com/blogs/ instead of the actual blog link  http://houstonlively.com/blogs/entry/your_blog_title
