I've been thinking of a way I can give paying members a way to really modify their profiles. I was thinking about their own HTML block but after reading a few threads here I understand that's a little risky security-wise. Then this idea hit me.....
What if I could give them a block (or 2 or 3) that was an iframe? This way they could keep their code wherever they want and it would have no effect on my site. The block would have to be user configurable for height.(it would have static width as to however the Dolphin page is configured)
Does this sound like something that's Doable?
Thanks, Mel

BTW.... your idea of iframing external content is the worst possible way to give someone their own content.

This might do similar...
Theres also a hack in the forum somewhere for allowing iframe
put the two together, see if you can restrict profile composer to certain membership level (paying)?

I may have told someone how to allow iframes, but I am pretty sure I would have also mentioned the extreme stupidity of doing so. I'll say it again: allowing users to iframe external content is extremely stupid.

Could you please explain why this is stupid? I'm NOT challenging your statement...Just desperate for an education. I'm digitally challenged!

To many security problems with iframes.
Iframes are perfectly safe as long as your in control of the content. But you do not want to give your members control of the content. There is a reason the tinymce editor is programmed to remove them.
Do a google search for iframe risks or iframe security https://www.deanbassett.com |
