Owned a successful adult BBS in the 90s Same name based in the San Francisco bay area. Everything was dial-up then. Had a tacky office in Campbell, CA with racks and racks of modems (100) and tons of phone lines. We had local dial up in every community in bay area. We used MBBS (Galacticom). We where also a dealer for MBBS so we got all our hardware and software at cost. We grew fast. We took our 1,000,000 dial-up call two years after coming online. We where one of the first to add a dedicated internet connection to our site. Then came the internet explosion. Like every other BBS, we went out of business. The internet gave away everything free. I had overhead, an office, 120 phone lines. software/hardware updates and payroll. Bye Bye Nasty Playmates. But we are back. been looking a long time for a platform, found Boonex/Dolphin. Been up and running since start of 2007, doing ok, but techie stuff has held us back. Hopefully that is behind us, going to start marketing and advertising again
