To create a list, login to Admin - Settings - Predefined Values.  Cick on Create New.

To use that list, move a NEW_ITEM block to where you want it in: Admin - Builders - Profile Fields.  Click on NEW_ITEM to edit it.  Under "General" add the name of the list you created, a caption, description, and change Type to Selector.  Then go to "Advanced."  Make sure "Selector control" is set to "Select (Dropdown box).  Then, and most importantly, for "Possible values" enter the name of your list preceded by "#!" (the number sign and an exclamation point).  For instance: #!MYLIST.

That's it.  To use a default list, simply substitute the default list's name: eg. #!DEFAULTLIST

Enjoy.

Thankyou for the information... I was getting stuck with the #! before the list name, as the documentation does not mention the !, and I couldn't work out why it was not working by following the documentation.

Boonex really need to pay some very much needed attention to the user manual... it is seriously lacking directions.

Glad I could help.  I agree about the need for better documentation.  The developers are proboaly too busy getting D7 to work right, and I'm sure we'd all prefer that.  But it would save alot of people asking questions that may look foolish to someone with experience.  I have certainly fallen into that category at least once.

There is actually an excellent information site, by James Tadeo, boonexnerd.com.  He has a great online manual for 6.1.6, and alot of that still applies.  That's where I found out about the #!.  You have to join to access the tutoirials, but I'd recommend doing so.  Let me know what you think.

Hi,

I am trying to do the same thing here but i want to add the new list to the search in the ads section. It does not give me the option to add new item only HTML block, rss and social. Can this be done?

Thanks

@meme

As far as I know Predefined lists only works with Profile fields, not with modules like Ads...

There's a user manual?? Well you know more than I do then.

I think the support is shocking really. I desperately want to speak to someone who can help/support with work I need doing on my site and I can't even find someone to speak to (I pay for my license as well) and I am prepared to pay for the support and still no-one seems interested.
