I had the same problem and occurred only when using the Spanish language. These were mistakes in the translation file.

With 6.15 upgrade - I am still having this same issue - any suggestions???

The preset sub categories are already set in place, if you view the classifieds link from the main site.

Problem is, it will not let you add anything due to subcategories field missing..

Boonex.us version of 6.15 does work - so I don't know.  It just seems like the category is not refreshing with the sub categories once it is selected.  I have flash 10 installed.

Any ideas?

ANYONE?   The forums seem very dead!  Where is the Boonex Support?

First you need to select the MAIN Category before see/editing the subCategories.

When entering subCategory be SURE you have OPEN the MAIN Category before selecting ADD. If NO MainCat is selected then the subCAT will NOT be added. Regardless how many times you try... :) lol

Deleting is easier as you only need to OPEN Main Category and select the subCat and press delete. Easier in that, you can not delete subCats unless you are in the MainCat because they will NOT be displayed.

hope this helps.?!

I don;t think you are reading the thread correctly!  We see not subcategories - nor can I edit the categories.

I had another version of dolphin installed - and it was working.  I tried to copy it over, but that didn't work, even after editing the header.inc file - it kept pointing back to the old domain.

I reinstalled a fresh version, and the subcats work plus it allows me to edit - so it has to be a software issue somewhere on my other installs.  Question is, what needs to be reuploaded in order to fix it?

So you're saying that your FrontSide Classifieds Page does not show SubCats even if the Cat is selected and there are subCats built into the Cat via the Admin.?!

If so to (attempt) fix, I would reload the classifieds.php, classifieds_tags.php, classifiedsmy.php PAGES.

However, if your edited the header.inc.php file and directory/file calls then I would start by double checking to ensure all my calls are correct, especially if I transfered the site to a different server/host.

Did/Do I understand you know.?!

That is correct - the subcats are there by default - will now show or load when trying to add classifieds..  nor am I allowed to edit them.  A new install does not have this problem..

I will reupload those files and see what it does.

I have a similar problem. I know how to go into 'content' and find 'classified' and manage. But when I click 'save' everything blinks and is gone.

When trying to make a classifed we get the 'subclassifed is required'

I am having the same problem on my site trying to get the Classified ads to work. I found this in the classifieds.php, right from the decompressed Zip file downloaded from Boonex:

elseif ((int)$_REQUEST['action']==2) {
$iClassifiedSubID = (int)$_REQUEST['FilterSubCat'];
//$iClassifiedSubID = ($oClassifieds->bUseFriendlyLinks) ? (int)db_value("SELECT `ID` FROM `ClassifiedsSubs` WHERE `ÑEntryUri`='" . $oClassifieds->process_html_db_input($_REQUEST['FilterCat']) . "' LIMIT 1") : (int)$_REQUEST['FilterSubCat'];

The above word in red should apparently be something else: either SEntryUri or CEntryUri, but I've tried both and neither options do anything. So, I'm guessing there must be more problems than just this one?

Any help is appreciated.

There should be a dropdown box in that screenshot.

I don't know if this will help you track down the culprit, but I noticed it was absent - so I thought I would mention it.

The image above is from a new install of 6.15

Looks like I fixed the error. I went back and looked at the setup and found I never changed levels after install.

After I did this my Blog Edit worked as well as fixed the drop down in the Classifieds and a few more bugs we had. Hope this helps.

@heavilymental   I don't think changing the typo will make any difference, because isn't the line commented out as it begins with // ? I think it is just there as a reminder of what the function in the line above does.

@ project 198  It does feel like a permissions problem, but I've checked/changed mine, and I still have the problem (also with not being able to edit a blog entry. Are you sure this is all you did to solve it?

Got it! My folder /inc/js  was set to 777. Changing it to 755 did the trick.
