adding more emoticons to IM and chat

Hi - How do I add more smiley sets to IM and Chat?

And how do I set the default set?

Also - I notice the emoticons that come with Ray are flash swf files. Can I use gifs as well. All the emoticon sets I have are gif files.

I know theres an answer to this out there somewhere ....

1.you need to create folder in \ray\modules\global\data\smilesets\

2. upload your smiles into new directory.

3. inside this directory make config.xml file for your smiles like in default folder.

Hi - Thanks Artur that worked. When I used the gif files the display size was not controlled by the xml file. Each icon displayed at 110px which was the actual size of the gif - very big.

So I imported each one into flash and turned them into swf files so that I can shrink their display size.

Took a few hours to do lots of them though :-(

also the swfs are about 70% bigger file kb.

Also changing the default set is tricky as its coded in the xml file itself instead of taking its name from the folder.

When I get organised I might post the swf files with the xml files for download.

Save someone else doing the same thing again.

Yes i'm doing the same thing, but there is a problem when I add an emoticon in the swf format, because it's a bit bigger than the actual ones that comes default, but I need them like that; the problem here is the spacing between lines of messages it overlaps the text so i can't see the text behind, in your work did you find how to get space between the lines.?
