Profile Video is connecting for ever

On Install I am getting permissions errors, even after changing all so that all options are green, on next step I get this error message in a red box:

Next files have inappropriate permissions:
ray/modules/shoutbox/xml/config.xml;
ray/modules/shoutbox/xml/langs.xml;
ray/modules/shoutbox/xml/main.xml;
ray/modules/shoutbox/xml/skins.xml;

Also these items dissappear from the permissions list.
Tried various permissions and notheing can get me past this glitch.

I uploaded all files and then went to upgrade.php and i get the following error

I have tried importing the new database and everything seems to work but it says i am still on 6.1.4 and i still have widgets which i thought had been removed.

I face that into orca/groupsforum, the tiny-mse is not loading anymore. LOADING POST TOPIC PAGE... there it will be hangup.

Good to see a patch being worked on, well done. Big thumbs up here.

A couple of problems I found after upgrading to 6.1.5 from 6.1.4 are as follows:

1/ All contacts incorrectly show as 'online' in presence.

2/ Boonex Unity link showing in movie player and profile music player plugins. Replacing player.swf with 6.1.4 versions fixes issue.

I am happy to help test any bugfixes for these issues for the 6.1.6 release.

3/ Change all short tags to long tags - many hosts disable the short tags function and increasing compatibility is a good thing.

4/ Change the RSS feature used for aggregating forum posts to utilise either a local function call to get the RSS data or at worst case a relative path. The RSS issue that many experience (constantly spinning icon for forum posts) is due to WSP's disabling loop-backs. Again - this increases Dolphin compatibility and is both worthwhile and probably a relatively easy see more fix.

I haven't had time to test 6.1.5 to see if these changes have been made, but one of your "unsung heros" on the forums - "Okweb" - has done some enhancements and bug fixes that really improve Dolphin.

Also, while not technically "a bug" it would be really nice if we had the option to use use TinyMCE in the profiles "DescriptionMe" field. There are mods that do that on the forums, but there are security issues that are not well understood, and it would be nice if you could supply this as a feature, and ensure that is is secure.

i have instaled the 6.1.5 version
what could i do

After upgrading from v6.1.4 to 6.1.5, i had some weird looking Admin login page, no link to the actuall Admin Panel (I coded that myself in), and other weird looking links showing in the admin panel and in the footer.
I decided to do a fresh install with 6.1.5
Now I cannot even complete the installation.
First in the instalation I get a message telling me to turn off "register_globals". Done that thru custom php.ini, then when I try to continue with the installation I get: "safe_mode see more is on, disable it".
The safe_mode on my hosting company it is off.
From that point there is no way I can continue with the installation. I installed the previous version very smooth, but this is going nowhere.

It seems dolphin needs some professional developers since 6.15 was supposed to 'fix' problems with 6.14; yes "every" version is an 'upgrade' but has more bugs than the version before it. 6.16 will probably be even more buggy than 6.15, given past boonex experiences. Why won't they ever just fix a certain version instead of ignoring it and moving on to a totally different version every time??? Can't they just admit that they don't know how to fix their own software?

Profile video doesn't seem to work as mentioned earlier. My RMS works fine with everything else.

Write permissions that show in the installer are buggy. Apparently it's worse on Windows but they showed wrong on perm-rollbacks with my Linux install too. I was able to skip that part and install was successful, but thought I would mention it.

Would you be able to get rid of the directory name "orca" and just call it "forums" or something like that, since you are getting rid of orca anyway.

I have a new installation of Dolphin which was not an upgrade from the previous version. My php.ini is configured correctly, in that:
register_globals is off
allow_url_include is off
get_magic_quotes_gpc is on

I am getting Cron messages sent to me from .../periodic/notifies.php falsely reporting that they are on, on and off respectively. Is this a bug?

In addition, I have several domains hosted on the same server, and having to turn off allow_url_include now means that one of my other sites see more doesn't display correctly :o(

However, as RMS does not appear to work with my web host (Host Gator) I'd like to know if anyone else who uses Host Gator has RMS working properly. If not, it seems I'll have 2 reasons to get my Dolphin site hosted elsewhere.

I have mods on my site which is native in dolphin 7, so I'm not interested in upgrading to 6.1.5 dolphin.
Question: So I have no interest in updating my site, you can upgrade dolhin 6.1.4 to 7.0 directly?

Lost some of the graphics for www.site.com/admin, and its also saying that its dolphin 7. The Banners don't display correctly under internet explorer 8 and older versions on the front page, and on datinggamers.com the join now and memebers login both lost there graphics.

O yeah and in the admin panel it says im still on 6.1.4 when im actully on 6.1.5

Can you change the ajax login so it directs to the members.php page as the regular login does? Thanks!

Found a small issue.

On lang_file.php?view=editLanguage&editLanguageID=1

When you save the changes, it always says it is missing the language name even tho the name is there.

It would be nice to have the different moderation levels added back (as we had in version 5) to the admin section for members: Rejected, Unconfirmed, Confirmed, Suspended ... instead of simply Active / Inactive as it is now.

html blocks not saving in diverent browsers!!!!!

Why the chat isn't connecting with RMS Boonex, someone has this same problem?

1.The double thumbnails for couples in the blocks "featured members" & "members". Could there be only one thumbnail?
It always brings break into the block which don't look good.

2. if a couple register it doesn't show on "members block latest".

We have our own RMS, but after the upgrade, Dolphin's admin keeps telling us that it can't connect to RMS when we save our Ray settings.

I can see it trying to connect though, so I know that it's there. Also, I seem to be able to see all of my chat rooms and white boards.

In the Whiteboard:

If you are using the Line tool and draw a 1-pixel width vertical line where the start and end points have the same X coordinate (different Y coordinates), the line disappears.

The same occurs with horizontal lines.

Victor, it's probably a miscalculation in the ascent/descent calculation. You may need to add a special case exception to the code to handle vertical/horizontal lines with no change in the x or y coordinates respectively.


Also, when is the source code for see more the Ray modules supposed to be released?

Also in the whiteboard, the "Save" feature has never done anything that I can see.

Is this feature supposed to allow you to save the board so you can return to it later, or does it have some other, more mysterious purpose?

If I leave the board and return at a later date, the whiteboard has been destroyed. (Unlike the chat, where I can return later and the room is still there.)

After the upgrade, (from a Smartpro Version to 6.1.5),

Ecards are now no longer working.

We receive the following error whenever the eCard link is clicked:

In the run_daemon.sh RMS script, line 6 runs:

killall -9 java


Correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks like it will kill any java process. What happens if other Java daemons are running?

On a more positive note, I would like to thank the Boonex team for creating a script to gracefully terminate the RMS server. (red5-shutdown.sh) Good work guys!

When viewing polls.php, the only polls that are shown under "All Polls" are the site polls. Member polls are not shown. (Is this supposed to work like this?)

In the Whiteboard, we are no longer able to specify the number of users allowed.

Also, when first entering the whiteboard, and no boards are available, everything is greyed out, and you have to click on "New Board" before you can do anything. (Used to have a box pop up allowing you to create one when you first entered).

Date input fields don't respect the settings entered into the Advanced Settings "Short Date Format" in the Admin panel.

(For example when creating an account, the dates are entered as %m/%d/%Y instead of %m-%d-%Y as set up in the settings)

Also in the Advanced settings, if Dolphin is installed anywhere other than the root directory of the website, the "Help" links beside the "short date format" and "long date format" don't work.

i see a problem with the rss feed using AdSense by google.... i use the latest version of dolphin and i try to change the rss feed on the main page of dolphin... i change the rss of boonex with a rss from my google adsense rss generator.... on my website the rss is showing correctly but it does not show the google ads in the feed.... someone can help me?

I had a company upgrade me to 6.15 and that was a big mistake as they had to put me back to 6.14 as it caused a lot off error. Out of that I've lost my license's to Ray and that includes not being able to use video and the IM messenger throws up user authentication failed. So anymore upgrades I'll only commit to do if it works 100% and is'nt going to cause the headaches I've got at moment!!!

im installing dolphin for the first time.
i have the pro package at inmotionhosting.com, and using 6.5, i tried an install and it complained that magic_quotes_gpc was off. i fixed that by editing the php.ini, checked the phpinfo(), and magic_quotes was on.
dolphin insisted that magic_quotes was off.
i tried editing the .htaccess files to enable magic-quotes, but that threw 500 internal server errors.
dolphin refuses to install, complaining that magic_quotes is off, even when phpinfo says it see more is on. please how do i fix this problem?

Admin's events not showing up in the homepage "events block" bug has not been fixed yet, will it be fixed in the 6.16?

I also keep getting the "Can't connect to RMS" error in the Ray Suite Admin -> Settings, when I click save. and chat just keep loading.

However, I can see in the RMS logs that it does connect, but theres a Java error. I've copy/pasted it below. I got this on both of my RMS servers.

As I mentioned, it does connect, so I don't know if this is just more of a cosmetic issue, or if chat/video/etc doesn't work either.

just curious now the licenses i have waiting for me in my Inbox over at Licenses, what will happen to my contribuator licenses since they were given to me about 1 year and half ago compared to these licenses.

If I dont use the New Licesnes until 7.0 comes out will that matter still, thanks!

The HTML Block editor doesn't work in my admin under IE8. It does work with the latest Firefox.

I downloaded the latest Smart Pro Pack and once again have to re-do all our customization. I expected that and decided to bite the bullet when I saw the security bugs 6.1.5 fixed. What I didn't epect was when I did the install it told me I was installing 6.1.4. It installed and everything got registered, ray et al. I have not tested anything yet.

So now I have downloaded the 6.1.5 upgrade / patch but I also want to download the 6.1.6 patch but I can't find it anywhere.i have looked see more in downloads, my SP account, the trac in your post.

I want to install both those patches asap before I re-do things.

Please tell me where to get 6.1.6

I do have rms hosting, the audio-video chat works perfect, but the mypresence IM seems to want to connect to the rms.boonex instead of the rms private hosting I have and is stuck on "loading" for ever. Makes Mypresence an useless feature, almost.

Another bug, if nobody is online, Mypresence shows one's list of friends instead and it shows them all "Online".

I DO like a lot the new look of Mypresence on 6.1.6, see more but as I said, without the IM working it makes it just an useless addition.

And yes, the people who host my RMS (Terabyte Hosting) DID go in and tried to find a fix for this and it was impossible.

The pictures in my promo block (promo flash reloader)change from full size to small. Does anyone know what the problem and fix for this is? Thanks.

I'm losing between a fifty & hundred members a day and I don't belief that they all unregister. They just disappear.

wow... since the upgrade using the patch fro 6.14 to 6.15 I find that I cannot sign new members because the capcha returns error message... when just before the upgrade we were able to successfully use the sign-up so there is definitely something changing on the patch. Accordingly we had the systems administrator server-side fix amend the php.ini file in upload_max-filesize from 2mg to 50mg but still we get the 2mg error message when attempting to upload a video.

I'm running 6.1.2 and it appears that I am mysteriously losing profiles. I'm not sure if when my cron deletes temp files if it is deleting profiles as well but I am losing them. The members do not have the ability to delete themselves so that option is eliminated. My database pruning is set to 72000 days on profiles so that option is also eliminated. I do not run fake profiles so I only have 94 currently. Every new profile I get means alot to the site so to see them start getting deleted is killing see more me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I do not think Ray Desktop has worked since 6.0, i could be mistaken, i even inquired of rayz, to ask what the deal was with it, and he said it wasnt working, and wouldnt be working any time in the future that he was aware of, so i was wondering why its still even included in the packaged suite?

as for upgrades,

i have upgraded 5 sites (unmodded sites) and there were no conflicts that i am aware of. of course they were upgraded yesterday.

something odd on the installation of 6.1.5, i have see more had reports from others who are installing on a server that i have setup, the report is that the last step reports as mentioned on here previously, that the permissions are still incorrect. i am going to test this myself and see what i can find out.

i installed 6.1.5 twice today, two different servers, same server setup, same set of files. this was really weird behavior, and it may even create an issue where i need to reinstall. i went through the process of installing, and typically i register the licenses for all that are hosted with us, i went to the ray widgets on this one install and all widgets were registered, and required nothing further from me. the install just prior to that, same set of files, different server, required that i register all of the ray widgets.

just thought it to be weird.

I am having similar issues. Blocks not saving in admin. The messenger/chat remains loading although the regular video room chat is functional. This one is odd, Some blocks not showing in "my account" for some profiles, others show all blocks. Some of these problems began after the 6.1.5 upgrade. I had hoped the newest patch would fix them.

Heres a critical error for you. I upgraded from 6.14 (which is a great version) to 6.15, a couple of minor bugs. When I upgraded to 6.16 the only pages I can access is the home and chat page! The other pages are either not found due to bad links or I don't have permission, even though my chmod settings seem to be fine:S

I'm having the same problem as Diddy and 2979 - Upgraded to 6.1.6 on Monday and today, all of a sudden, over 1000 member profiles were deleted from the database.

Do I need to install a RMS server separate from dolphin 6.1.6 ?

From http://www.boonex.com/products/dolphin/download/, they "recommend the latest version of Dolphin and the included components be used". It seems whoever the rms software is not inluded in the download dolphin 6.1.6 package. Is that right, and one have to download the "Media Server for Windows (for Dolphin 6.1.5-6.1.6) (37 Mb)" separately ?
