My videos stay in "Processing". I have changed the permission to 777 on the ffmpeg file (prob typed that file name wrong). I have ensured my cron operates and tried firing in manually. I have unchecked the H264 codec (prob named that wrong too). I have cleared the cache. I do receive periodic emails from the cron job daily. The cron job fires every minute. The feature used to work a long time ago. Perhaps maybe before changing templates? I have read Zarcons tutorial on these related issues but can not relate a posing problem since my cron does work. I changed the template to UNI and still a no go. I run 7.1.4. I have read tons of people having this same issue with only a few who found answers with the above things I've tried.
Never heard back from you on this. I'm still lost on this. I only offer YouTube embed on the site still until I figure out why videos never process. I think the upgrade to 7.1.0 might have initiated this for me. Could be wrong. Eventually the video fails once it never processes. Let me know or anyone else reading if you have a thought please share. Thanks.
How was your site installed? Grab the 7.1.4 zip file and upload the ffmpeg.exe using ftp if possible with transfer specifically (don't use auto) set to binary, make sure the file permission is set to 777 after it is uploaded.
Yes, it could be the 7.1.0 upgrade is to blame; it could have broken something. Let me know if it is still broken after replacing ffmpeg.exe
I've already done that as well unfortunately. Everything you said to the detail. My site was installed manually by myself. I did not use an auto installer or anything like that. Does ffmpeg.exe associated with the flash uploader and the regular uploader?
The uploader just uploads the file from your computer to the server and sets things in motion. I can not remember if you said that video embedding worked. ffmpeg is used to process the embeds as well and is responsible for creating the thumbnail associated with an embedded video. ffmpeg is also use for sounds processing; so if you can process a sound/music file but not a video that may help track down the problem
You said that you receive periodic reports, but do you also receive any emails with FFmpeg output? If so, please check these emails for any errors or warning messages at the bottom, and post them here.

@myhuntprofile, I'll be glad to help you troubleshoot this.
That would be great and more than appreciated. Just let me know any direction I need to go. I am working all this week so my communications may be a little more spaced than usual but I will reply daily. I am familiar with code and do alright with instructions I think.

I do not receive any emails with FFmpeg output. I only get the periodic which sometimes sends weird emails that has different ratios each time. I get the normal mailing of telling me number of deleted sessions etc but sometimes a cron error might just say "13:6" or "20:1" etc.

Hopefully Newton can discover what is wrong.
My site does not use sounds so I have never tried them. My only method of adding videos right now is the YouTube embed which works well.
Can the current videos, you tubes only which is good, be backup up from the database and imported back into a working 7.1.x video module? I have never done that..
The video or old modules would have to be uninstalled to fix.

I would rename the data directory for videos under the flash directory so that uninstalling does not delete the video and thumbs.
sys_albums, sys_albums_objects, RayVideoFiles, and (if any videos were uploaded in a module) the video table for the module.
I made the mistake of just backing up the folder with all of the video files. I ended up having to re-upload all of my videos (162) so that the database tables would be correct. Same for Photos and sounds.
Now the question is...

I have removed the sounds module and reinstalled. Sounds version number updates just by clicking uninstall and reinstall. Sounds still work and process to "public sounds". Good news or just more confusing?
Would I be correct in saying overwriting fresh 7.1.4 files into the video module would not effect data, or any uploaded comment, etc? It would only be effected once the module is uninstalled and reinstalled? Then I would need to follow the back up instructions and comments mentioned above in this thread.

That's exactly what I did to back up your videos the first time; it works great.

I have fixed the video upload issue. I tried a ton of things but it seems like increasing my allotted RAM to a script from 512 to 1024 corrected the issue in my PHP configuration. In conjunction, I also extended max execution time for a script to run to 660 (an overkill number) but its working. I am on a VPS with 2.5GB (2560MB) of RAM. It is my belief that larger file size videos are weighing in on this resource heavily. I created a 7 second low quality video and uploaded it to the site to speed up test results. This small video is processing every time and is 685KB in size. After confirmation the videos were processing I tried a little bit larger video 25MB in size 40 minutes ago from this message and it is still processing. We really need a better solution for video processing in the future I feel. I would like to see the progress of the upload and processing if possible without using a flash uploader. If this latest video (very old file) fails processing then I will try a newer file of equal size. If the following also fails to process then I will find my upload file size restriction. Fact is a 25MB video is not that huge. I am off to bed for now.
My extended thanks to Newton for offering his personal time on this issue and as well everyone else who contributed a thought to correct this issue. Thanks.
Armed with what knowledge I've gained I have attached a screen shot of changes I made to process video. I know to a critic it is not typical but these php settings are what caused it to work. I will tweak these as I learn more.
I have a similar problem... Uploading sounds and video's is not possible. They get stuck at "pending processing"...
I checked the ffmpeg file, but that is 777, so that couldn't be the problem. I have installed the latest version of Dolphin manually and i downloaded a new version of the ffmpeg file and placed it on the good location.I don't get any ( error or other ) mails about the subject.
I don't have a lot experience with Dolphin and haven't a clue how to fix it... Maybe someone can help me out? I can send you the login details, so you can take a look at it.

Did you setup the cron job for Dolphin? That's required for video and sound processing to work.

As sad, i don't have a lot experience with that. So i haven't set that up... Isn't that standard in Dolphin?
It's required to be setup during the installation. If it wasn't, it needs to be before things like file processing and system maintenance will work. The basic command should look like this:
cd /home/[yourusername]/public_html/periodic; /usr/local/bin/php -q cron.php
Adjust the paths to match your site and server. The cron job should be set to run every minute.

Your hosting control panel should have a section to add cron jobs. If you're not sure where, contact your host. I can also take a look, but I'll need your hosting control panel login.

So i need to create a cron job with this line: cd /home/[yourusername]/public_html/periodic; /usr/local/bin/php -q cron.php instead of yourusername i need to fill in my dolphin username or?

That was only an example. Use the actual path to Dolphin. This and the correct PHP path are in your /inc/header.inc.php file.

When you first set up Dolphin, it gives you what it thinks is the correct cron job to use; did you copy that down?
Now Nathan gave you an EXAMPLE of a cron job, his example is not for all servers, it is just an example.
you could use <path to php> -q <path to cron.php>
You are going to need someone that can look at your settings to help with this. Nathan volunteer to help (he may be busy) and he is very knowledgeable in Dolphin and servers. I can take a look as well.
Here is an example from an Arvixe hosting account with cpanel
If you can help me that would be nice. I can't fix this. I can make nice websites, but doesn't have a clue how all the technical stuff works.. What login info do you need from me? Than i send it... ( if you want :P )
