is your solution for multilingual sites, just the option to add the language or did it display only german news content if you have select german as language ?

Yes, if your site is multilingual it will allow the poster to choose the language for the news. Members browsing the site will only see news items that are posted in their language.

Improvements have been made to the News Admin functionality and also the Archiving.

Can you make search boxes (/m/news/home/) in Ultimate News and Ultimate Articles identical and maybe with 'placeholder' attribute?

 I have adjusted the news search block to be similar to the articles.

Adjustments have been made to the multi-language functionality. Re-upload files and clear cache.

Hello, how to keep the news already present on the site and install ultimate news when I am present procedure, the module can be installed very well, but my news disappears.

The mod has a readme.txt with detailed instructions on how to install the mod and keep the current news entries. If you already installed the mod without following the instructions in the readme.txt and you have lost the existing news, there is no way of getting them back.

I made a backup and restored, so nothing lost Laughing

I have just followed the read me:

a) Upload sqlbefore.php from the "News_files" folder and run http://www.yoursite.com/sqlbefore.php
 
b) Uninstall Existing Boonex News module (if installed)
  
c) Upload the modules folder That comes in this package to your zip dolphin root.
     Merge with your Existing modules folder.
 
d) In admin, go to Tools-> Modules.
 
e) Look in the list of "Not Installed Modules" for "Ultimate News"
 
f) Select it and click "Install"
 
g) Upload sqlafter.php from the "News_files" folder and run http://www.yoursite.com/sqlafter.php

Well I re test the installation and backup news, this function was the problem categories, forcing website French English class and nothing corresponded.

How to remove the alphabet bar?

I will release a patch that will allow disabling this from the admin panel.

Here are a few suggestions. I hope that you'll be considering implementing some of them since your module is at the core of one of our website:

1) When you're adding a news and want to add a picture, but forgot to fill one field of the form (let's say tags for example), the picture dissapears and you have to choose it again in the News's photo section. My users seems to forget this all the time. Would it be possible to upload the photo right when it is chosen or upon click on "Submit", event if the form is not perfectly completed yet?

2) There are so many fields in the "Add News" page. Following the KISS principle, options like "RSS feeds", "Location", "Youtube Video" and "News files" should be hidden by default as they are used by less than 5% of the users.

3) This request may be more specific, but it would be great if there was a "Link" or "Source" field. Ideally, the form could find the picture and title of the news by itself looking at the metadatas (http://www.iacquire.com/blog/18-meta-tags-every-webpage-should-have-in-2013) of the source.

4) I think "Top rated" and "Popular" News pages should include some kind of a time factor. I don't care about the top rated news if it has been posted 1 year ago. I want to know which recent news (less than 1 week old) are interesting to find great content easier.

5) The keyword search does not launch search when pressing "Enter" on keyboard

6) Last but not least, the mod is not compatible with the mobile app :( Is it even possible to have it there?

I think those suggestions may interest a lot of people, especially since the last update was so long ago. Are you considering upgrading this mod in the future?

@STERIAEOLIS - I have made a note of your suggestions for possible inclusion in the next update. Item 1 won't be possible though.

This module is now compatible with Dolphin 7.2 . For those upgrading from Dolphin 7.1, please check the upgrade folder for instructions.

I have an issue with Ultimate News votes.

If a user try to vote by clicking the voting stars, then it shows the vote and a fix number for the total votes. 

Next, if I refresh the page, then no votes appear at all.

Finally, the above issue exactly keeps repeating every time a user try to vote without increase or decrease in votes or showing votes.

BTW, all other votes work normally. i.e. profile votes, photo votes...etc

@namesbuying - Run the following query in your phpmyadmin to increase the size of the affected field :

ALTER TABLE `modzzz_news_rating` CHANGE `gal_id` `gal_id` INT(10) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';

NEW RELEASE - This module has been rebuilt to eliminate conflict with default Boonex News module. Please follow installation instructions carefully to prevent loss of existing news entries. This new module has the ability to import news from default Boonex News module or from the OLD version of my news module.

I take it this does not work with Listings module or any of the other module integration's for now.

 Correct, those updates are in progress.

And what yet new update have?

1.) i see that your new module have "mnews" (your older news module have "news"), how with seo, when migrate with your older news module??

2.) tested your news module on your test page and dont have mentions and hashtags support

3.) rss export feed, text with image, your module dont have ( today this option is verry important)

@moby10 - This is simply a rebuild to eliminate conflict with Boonex News. It doesn't add any new features. I also mentioned in the post just above that integrations with other modules are in progress.  Previously both Boonex News and My News module used the same URI ("news"). This has resulted in conflicts which forced me to use "mnews" for my version instead.

RESPONSE : Finish what ? As far as I am aware, all advertised features of the module are working. If a specific feature is not working then state exactly what you are talking about.

RESPONSE : A patch was already released yesterday for the Mentions module. You need to subscribe to the support forum for the modules you buy so you are notified of patch releases.

Thirdly - 2 years i ask you that add image to rss

RESPONSE : You need to request this functionality from Boonex. Adding image to RSS cannot be done from the News module. The RSS functionality is a default Dolphin feature that third party modules (such as News) simply integrates with and presently Dolphin does not allow the addition of images in RSS. You will notice that even default modules such as Events or Groups does not have images in RSS so its quite unfair to label my module as "unfinished" because it does not have a feature that the Dolphin software does not cater for.

RESPONSE : I explained in previous posts that the module could no longer use "/m/news/" because this conflicts with the default Boonex News module. Boonex has requested that modules that conflicts with theirs should be rebuilt, otherwise they will remove them from the market. There is nothing I can do about this.

An update has been made to fix an issue with Related Categories not displaying correctly on the News page. The following 2 files are adjusted.

Is it possible to have the title of the news on the news/view itself? Maybe instead of DESCRIPTION?
