UPDATE V1.1: Subprofile's profile page displays a block with the parent profile's avatar and name Best Regards AntonLV - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/AntonLV |
I like this idea! I have a few queries. Can the sub-profiles be linked to membership? Can sub-profiles appear in their own block on the homepage/index page? Can sub-profiles be limited to one per person? Where is the 'create' sub-profile button? I can't locate it. I can see that the admin can allocate sub-profiles, and it's possible for the member to create too. But on your test site, the option isn't visible from what I can see. Also, can I edit each subprofile with a unique block that won't appear on any other sub-profile or main profile? It also appears that I can't search for these sub-profiles in the 'members' section too. I tried that on your test site without any luck. Is there a special sub-profiles 'members' option along the top row? If I buy this mod, I plan to edit each sub-profile with a unique code for the member that takes up the membership I'm designing. If the sub-profiles appear in their own block, and somewhere in the members section or in it's own section on the top row. I plan on renaming the sub-profile. |
Can the sub-profiles be linked to membership? How exactly linked? Do you mean that subprofiles must have some kind of a special membership? If so the possible as a custom modification. Can sub-profiles appear in their own block on the homepage/index page? Do you mean all subprofiles regardless of their parent profile? Yes as a custom modification. Can sub-profiles be limited to one per person? Yes as a custom modification. Where is the 'create' sub-profile button? I can't locate it. I can see that the admin can allocate sub-profiles, and it's possible for the member to create too. But on your test site, the option isn't visible from what I can see. On the 3rd step of join page on our demo site there is a "Parent profile" field which takes NickName or ID of a profile a new profile must became a subprofile of. Also, can I edit each subprofile with a unique block that won't appear on any other sub-profile or main profile? Sorry, I didn't understood. What do you mean by "Edit with a unique block"? Do you mean to place a unique page block on profile view page for each subprofile? If so then no, there is no such a functionality and it can be quite hard to implement something like that. It also appears that I can't search for these sub-profiles in the 'members' section too. I tried that on your test site without any luck. Is there a special sub-profiles 'members' option along the top row? No, subprofiles are just like any other regular profiles. So ensure that there are subprofiles matching your search criteria. In other words subprofiles have nothing different than parent profiles from the point of view of Dolphin. There are only connections between them recorded in a separate DB table. Yes, I intend to create a new special membership where only some people can use this option. Can sub-profiles appear in their own block on the homepage/index page? Do you mean all subprofiles regardless of their parent profile? Yes as a custom modification. If it can only show for online only, that would be best for me. Do you mean to place a unique page block on profile view page for each subprofile? If so then no, there is no such a functionality and it can be quite hard to implement something like that. I really need this option, as each subprofile will have a unique php code for the individual member. If the subprofiles can be logged/stored somewhere, then I could edit each profile without any problems. It also appears that I can't search for these sub-profiles in the 'members' section too. Currently I don't show members on the homepage. These subprofiles will appear there for the ones that are online only. The php code is linked to software that the member owns. When the member turns on their software, it'll link to the php block showing that they're on. For the members that choose to pay for this special membership, they'll appear on the homepage. If this is possible, let me know. |

I've got an idea for a future improvement. Not sure if it's applicable to my version. I think it would be a good idea for the subprofile page to include Tabs. Each Tab specifically for genders. |

Sorry, but I didn't understood. What kind of a subprofile page do you talking about? If you mean the page where all subprofiles are listed and which was added to your version only, then it is a custom modification and we can discuss it via PM rather than via support forum. hi I kept aqbparentprofile in join form. To manage their own profile. case: admin- profile for "admin"
user1- already an existing profile. user2- newly created based on user1 as parent profile.
takeover- profile created based on admin as parent. Here 'takeover' profile is randomly assigned to 'user2'. But not 'admin' and still showing in admins subprofiles block. Further 'user1' and 'user2' have became subprofiles of 'admin' (but not showing in block) to which admin can switch.

I'm sorry, but I don't understood the issue. If "takeover" was created as a subprofile of user2 then it must be a subprofile of user2 and shouldn't be connected to admin in any way (unless you have some customization to make all profiles as subprofiles of admin). I observed a risk happening with this module probably due to ip address and here it is: A person has a sub profile logged in with a computer and logged out. within few seconds another person has logged in. He noticed two subprofiles of previously logged in person. when he switches to one of the two subprofiles, the account behaved like first logged in person. Also the two persons are friends. Please look into this. |

However the problem confirmed and it can happen ONLY on the same device/PC and same browser's due to cookies from the previous login being stored. Fixed and the package updated. It is better to reinstall the module. Best Regards AntonLV - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/AntonLV |
Reinstall means replacing the subprofiles folder?

Reinstall means replacing the subprofiles folder? This will prevent appearance of subprofiles selector when another member is logged in using the same PC and broweser. But if you wish also the module to clear up all the cookies while logging off then it is necessary to hit uninstall/install buttons in admin panel. I have replaced the subprofiles folder. I got fatal error on the website during login. So again I replaced back old folder. Is there any fix?

I have replaced the subprofiles folder. I got fatal error on the website during login. So again I replaced back old folder. Is there any fix? The login process hasn't been altered at all by the recent fixes. Only subprofiles dropdown appearance and logout function were altered. Moreover the module has been tested, including login function, before being published as an update. So I'd suggest you to try again and ensure that all the files are in their places. If the error will happen again then check the server's error logs. Best Regards AntonLV - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/AntonLV |

Thank you. |
Replacing files produced error. But reinstalling worked. However all the subprofiles created or assigned were gone. |

I have kept parent profile tab in join form.its working fine. However the same tab which I placed in edit form is not assinging subprofile. |
Correct. For a reguilar user the ability to create a subprofile exists only on join page. I.e. a regular user can not become a subprofile or untie his profile from parent profile at any time simply by editing his profile. I have kept parent profile tab in join form.its working fine. However the same tab which I placed in edit form is not assinging subprofile.

Hi Anton, Can the Username/ID on the Join form be changed to Fullname? I would need this for my clubs site. |
Hi Anton, Can the Username/ID on the Join form be changed to Fullname? I would need this for my clubs site. Hello, It can be done, but the problem with FullName is that it is not necessarily unique. So in a case when there will be two profiles with the same fullname an undefined behavior will happen. Best Regards AntonLV - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/AntonLV |
