All useful but hardly effective:

Email confirmation does not stop bots from joining your site.....

Akismet costs money.....

Limiting blog posts just slows things down. Bots will just come back every hour of every day. day in and day out, year in and year out, century in a ... well, you get the idea.

I made use of the ideas in the 'spam spam, spam, IDEA' post and have COMPLETELY solved my spam problem. Why won't you promote the ideas as well? The stuff you just posted here has been tried by just about everyone on this site, all with miserable results.
