This is the support forum for the Schools mod.

Fixes problem with School Mates block appearing on all Profiles

Clients can download the mod and check the patches/version_2.0.1 folder for instructions.

If after installation I translate a file "sqlstates.php", how can I update it in a database?

Drop the states table from the database then run sqlstates.php again.

I tried to install a file лывдал and my site has broken. Here an error which I have received:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@*******.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

from ".htaccess" may a site began to work.

You must have made some mistake when you initially modified the .htaccess file. That line is needed for the forum section of the schools mod. PM me your site details so I can offer installation assistance.

How can I set any state as default in "state choose field"?

you will have to mod a file in /modules/modzzz/modname/classes/somethingformadd.php  and look for the state code and set a defualt in there.

On "Forum" page I see message "Profile not available for view". How can I create first forum post or topic in my school?

As I stated earlier, you cannot remove the line from the .htaccess because that line is needed for the forum section.

It is important to follow the instructions in the readme.txt file that comes with the mod. You need to perform the installation instruction shown below. For those entries that already created you will still have a problem but new entries will be fine.

In .htaccess

Find :

RewriteRule ^forum/groups/(.*)$  modules/boonex/forum/$1?orca_integration=groups [QSA,L]

Just above add :

RewriteRule ^forum/schools/(.*)$  modules/boonex/forum/$1?orca_integration=schools [QSA,L]

You install for me this module. And I see that the line which you have written in my file .htaccess a little doesn't correspond to that which you have resulted in an example. In words "school" there is no letter "S".

in my .htaccess - RewriteRule ^forum/school/(.*)$  modules/boonex/forum/$1?orca_integration=school [QSA,L]

in your example - RewriteRule ^forum/schools/(.*)$  modules/boonex/forum/$1?orca_integration=schools [QSA,L]

"School" word in plural! Whether it is necessary to me to change it?

Yes, it should be plural.

When I send the invitation to my friends , it (invitation) comes to me, why? And how I can forum translate? The basic forum on my site is already translated but a school forum in English.

Is this happening with external email or Inbox ?

You cannot set a state as default. State is dependent on Country. The mod detects  (based on profile info) the Country of the member adding the school and set that as default Country. It then loads the corresponding States for that Country. Since different set of states can be loaded by default for different members, you cannot have a fixed default for everyone.

The invitation issue is a bug, a patch will be released shortly. The language file for the mod is found at modules\modzzz\schools\install\langs\en.php

And I have suggestion for the next update:

When the user presses the button "join", the message on that he has joined doesn't appear. It would be good if there was a message and page was updated that the user has seen that he has appeared in the block fans.

i bet its there and you just dont see it because it opens and closes the block so fast.  for examle when you upload a video or photo on dolphin the status complete opens and closes within half a second.  sometimes you never see it all.

Whether it is possible to make somehow it more slowly?

Hello,

When somebody click on "JOIN" in your School module, nothing happen. It is necessary to reload the page manually to find out that you're become a fan.

First I thought that it was an error on my site, but the same happen here: http://www.dolphinmods.com/707/m/schools/view/test-school

The problem is that because the user don't see anything happening, they click again on "JOIN" and then come a message"You have successfully left this school".

Do you have a simple solution to correct this ?

It work perfectly now.

But unfortunately, now the schools list on the school home page doesn't show correctly anymore. Until I install the patch, it was showing like it should.

The short description is missing, etc...

Absolutely no change is made to the homepage block. PM me your site details and I will look at the site tonight.

This is not an error. In the latest versions, the display was changed to a compact view (showing of title but no description)

Will the Schools mod work with Dolphin 7.1?

Featured Schools on the module's home page will only display one entry - there is no mechanism that displays any additional Featured Schools in that block.  Can you please make an adjustment by adding a slide function that will rotate additional Featured listings automatically if there is more than one?

I did apply the patche, choose the default country and add the map thrue "Builder" _modzzz_schools_block_map but the map dosn't show.

Is there also a way to go back to the "old vew" with the short description (as it was before patches 2.04) ?

You shouldn't have to add the block through builder. If you completed the patches and cleared cache, the block would have automatically appeared in the builder. Clear cache and if you are still having an issue, send me your site details via PM so I can take a look.

I need my schools to be private and viewable only by it's students.

So School A is only viewable by students of School A.

Is it possible through small code change?

Yes, that can be done. However, you will also need to get it modified to allow the school administrator to add students instead of the present functionality where students can add themselves.

hi today i tried to update school mod to new version but got error as seen ALTER TABLE `modzzz_schools_main` ADD `currency` varchar(255) NOT NULL default ''

That sql is not a part of the update. What are you updating ? from one Dolphin 7.0 version to the next ? or are you updating to Dolphin 7.1 ? Is this part of some custom work that was done to the module ? Email me and attach the sql file you run when you got that error.

going by errors, I asked hosting to reupload backup at my present site..

TO check new udpated version, i have uploded it first to test at subdomain.. 

Per my host, then can redirect domain to new subdomain once its ready so i think its a better option then to touch already running site.

Now when I installed school there, in new location and it worked well. Only issue now how to transfer pictures.

I will be installing all mods one by one and once its ready, will move domain to this location.

For now, I am testing your school mode and also charity mode. Both moved via cpanel but pictures don't show up?

You need to import the records from the bx_photos_main table. See query below to fetch the subset of records related to Schools :

SELECT * FROM `bx_photos_main` where `Categories` = 'Schools'

You also need to copy the photos from modules/boonex/photos/data/files
