PK question...

Im looking at Modzzz RSS import for forum module,

do you know if PK will work with regular forum extensions out the box, or is it setup independent to Orca?

any news on release date...!

Quote · 9 May 2014

PKForum was designed to be independent of the Orca Forum and will not replace it for "regular forum extensions".  We suggest you run PKForum as your main forum along with the Orca Forum (hidden in the main menu) for any module that you want to have a separate forum.  We hope that module developers will soon add an option in their modules to use *either* PKForum or the default Orca Forum.

Regarding the PKForum launch date, I regret to say it's currently unknown to me.  Prashank seems to be extremely busy with contract work and has yet to find time to finish the License Management Service.  Until that's finished we all have to wait... myself included.

Please tell me it doesn't use xsl all over the place

no xsl... PKF was built with php and jquery :-)

Soon... the install package is currently being tested by a couple of Boonex members... they will install it on their test sites to ensure the install process is correct and the license activation system works as expected.

Quick question, on the demo home page, the latest posts that are there are not links to anything just static copies of the posts.

Is this permanent?

I would have thought the idea is that they should link to the actual post when clicked...

Quote · 21 May 2014

The link to the post is right below it. We might make the text linkable in next version if thats what most people want, its late for current version.

Edit, OK, I am lost here.  It shows an excerpt and then a linkable breadcrumb.  If you want to go to the reply, you click on the last bit, which takes you to the reply.  Why would you need to make the excerpt text linkable when you have the link in the breadcrumb?  My suggestion is that the excerpt does not need to be a link, it serves no useful purpose to make it a link because the link already exists.

OH MY GAWD! I imported my entire forum to pkforum and it completed error free and without any issues in a matter of seconds!

What a fantastic piece of work! I really think you guys have priced this product far too low for the level of complexity it contains.

WELL DONE!

Hi Preshank, just purchased PK :-)

not installed just yet, wanted to check on the license first...

The site I want to install on is in test build at the moment and the URL will most likely be changed prior to launch.

Am I able to transfer the license when its launch ready?

Thanks

You can re-activate and change domain as many time you want. You don't have to ask us to do anything. Thats how we build it. We know people hate waiting for developers to generate them licenses or change domains ;)

good news :-)

Im trying to install and activate my domain/product but my account in dolphin help says I don't have any purchased products...

Just start the activation process from your admin panel and it will generate a record for you automatically. Take help from docs if you need http://pkforum.dolphinhelp.com/docs/.

These questions may have been answered before, but I just can't get myself to browse multiple topics created by this ridiculous autopilot.

1. Does pkforum support sub categories? How many levels?

2. Pkforum integration with other modules best guess timeframe.  (A year/quarter is good enough for me)

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

@HL, the quick answers are "no/none" and "not sure yet".  Let me discuss these requests with Prashank... and when we'll add support for D7.0.9 version.

When you do, please make sure that both the Points and Achievement mods are integrated so that Members can receive both/either based on sepcific PK Forum activity (eg: Points for posting in or starting threads, capped daily, and Achievements for the 1st thread started, 1st reply to an existing thread, 5th thread started, 5th post in existing threads, 10th/10th, etc)
