Dear Customers,

Recently, we have published the new version of SpyWall (IBDW SpyWall 1.6).
With this update we have fixed a bug post on video, we added the graphical management of parameters directly by administration area, we added the moderation message to the administrator.

We recommend upgrading.

Because some customers are selling illegally in warez sites our modules (but also those of many other developers) violating the commercial license (for these sites and for these customers we will soon be news by the Italian police post), we will continue to ensure support only the latest versions.

Realizing that waiting for Boonex to develop a decent wall module would just be too long of a wait, I bought this.

With that said:

When I place the spywall block on the Account page, I get this error when I navigate to the account page:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 21


When I place the spywall block on the Profile page, I get this error when I navigate to my profile:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1


I didn't see a need to place the block on the home page to see what happened.   This isn't even close to working for me.. just a blank page with the sql errors. 

Give me some ideas how to solve this. 

Does anyone know if and how I can get a full debug output on this?  I really hate being at the mercy of someone halfway around the world, and would like to avoid giving them carte blanche on my server.  Even after upgrading to version 1.6.2 of this module, and placing the block on my account page, the error below appears on a blank white page when I navigate to my dashboard (member.php):

If I at least knew line 21 of WHAT file, it would help.  I doubt it's line 21 of member.php, because there's no problems without this module installed.  According to the author, 50 other sites have this module installed, and I'm the only one with this problem.  Don't know how I got so lucky.  I swear.... I attract bugs like a light bulb.

Thanks.  Since all the files are encoded, there is nothing I can do to troubleshoot this.  Can you explain how a template or 3rd party module can create a mysql syntax error in your module?  All of my other modules work fine.

In administration/modules the version number states xxx.1.6 It would be nice if it stated xxx.1.6.x

I re-installed this module because I was not sure which version I had exactly.

Well.... My Boonex agent has refused to have a look at what may be causing the sql error.  I only asked him to have a look, and for some advice... not to fix anything. 

Unless you can give me some suggestions as to how to track down an sql synyax error in your encoded php files, I am afraid we have reached an impasse.  Can you at least give me an idea if some other mods might conflict with yours, and how that could happen?   We need to find some viable way to work together on this.

As Admin I deleted a member, this shows up on the SpyWall, Not Good.

How can I stop that from happenning?

We apologize but we rarely read this forum.

In addition to work on developing, we respond directly to email.

These days we understand why in the Houstonlively site SpyWall was not working.

We solved the problem.

SpyWall module is young and is tested on standard distributions of Dolphin. When you perform customizations to the template or file, may happen that there is any problem.

Whenever possible we always try to understand what generates the error but not always easy.

On our part there is always a lot of attention: we want to solve problems but, again, is not always easy to identify the cause quickly (somtime it's needed to access to admin area or to have the ftp credentials, but often the customers dont want give us these informations, and we can understand but this adds delay at the problem solving).

For support we wrote all our posts to write directly to our email address because we often read the mail, while rarely the forum.

How much of this mod is encoded?  I am very concerned that I would not be able to resolve conflicts with other mods if it is a black box.

All of it is encoded, you basically have to let ilbellodelweb have access to you site to debug it for you.

I have this mod on one of my sites, and I too had the same reservations, but I have found ilbellodelweb to be very helpful, and also trustwrthy.

in the first moment we decided to not encrypt the code. We hoped there was a lot of honesty, but unfortunately we were wrong.
This module is very complex. Some users have decided to sell IBDW modules illegally (but also the mods of other businesses programmers and freelancers).
This has needed the increment of code protection and the insertion of an activation process.
The code of SpyWall is immense, we work hard every day to make this module even better (we dont have the same facebook resources :( , there are only two programmers in the company to deal with this cms). However, we devote much time to gather your reports, your suggestions, your upgrade functions requests. The most interesting things (also because they are the most popular) are then published in the future updates that each of our customers can download for free.

Our reviews are positive because almost all of our customers have understood our seriousness and commitment.

We believe that SpyWall is a critical component if you want a site to be visited. Thanks to SpyWall the members can feel involved in the community and most likely solve the very big problem of users that visit the site only one time. In the past, many members of your social networks have stopped working?

SpyWall provides informations about the activities of your friends, allows you to share your content and the contents of your friends. Certainly it is not just Facebook, but it certainly is very similar to it (at least for the news feed section)



The cost of the component is very low if you think the benefit that is added to your social network: most of our clients says that its members loves our mods and the frequency is increased thanks to our modules (over SpyWall there are other 3 modules very interesting visit our post or our demo website http://demo.rhegion.com to try them).

Encoding does make troubleshooting problems difficult, but I definitely understand why you want to protect your work this way.... especially when there are members of this very site, boonex.com, that openly promote the free exchange of paid mods.  It is unfortunate that a few unscrupulous individuals, can destroy all bonds of trust between sellers and honest buyers.

With that said, today for the first time on my site, the Boonex Spy module, the Rayz Group Chat module, and your SpyWall module, are all working at the same time.  At this time, I do not know what Rayz did to get the Group Chat Module working, but it does seem to have been the one causing problems on my site.  When I have more information as to what the conflict was all about, I'll let you know.  What I do know, is that when the Rayz group chat module was installed, the boonex spy module would not install  properly, and of course if the Boonex spy doesn't work right, it affects your SpyWall module.  I should say that I use a slightly non-standard version of Rays Group Chat module on my site.

I'll give you more information when I have it.

I am glad that you intervened in this forum. You had some problems but we know that we have worked to understand how to solve.

It is often not easy to understand where the problem lies, other times it immediately.
The best thing would be to sell the open-source but unfortunately there are so dishonest.

If the code is open each could intervene personally and we save time.
The damage is twofold: in spite of very low prices, many prefer to buy from thieves that earn them with our work.

The 'spywall' mod is great and works well. My problem is this:

The spywall 'News' Block is on my homepage, when you are not logged in you have a few entries showing. These 'few entries' never change... Why not?

SpyWall is designed to show the news about your friends. Originally the spywall block (called NEWS) was only available for the account and profile page.

Many users have asked us to be able to also put into the home page. In the latest versions it's possible but it is important that the block NEWS is enabled only for members (you must disable the guest user).

I too, am on board with their spy wall mod. I have had it since version 1.04. Each time I have had an issue, they have always been available to help me resolve it. I now have the latest version and it is the true centerpiece of my site. The interactivity it creates between my users keeps my site not only alive, but growing at an accelerated rate.

The first time I bought and installed this mod, I had an issue. Actually, I had a couple issues. I sent off a message, didn't hear right back from them, got impatient and making a very bad choice, I posted a negative review on the product. Of course, I did not take the time differential into account and as soon as they got out of bed the next morning, they contacted me and the problems were quickly resolved. Of course, I cannot go back and change that product review now,  i wish I could. For that, I am truly sorry.

All the encryption also bothered me in the beginning a little, I couldn't go in and backyard hack my way through it. I no longer consider that an issue at any level. If you want activity on your site, you need to get people to communicate with each other. There is no better way to do that than using this mod.

you have right, many update in these days but the mod architecture has been changed, also the logic of the query (inverted). We hope this is one of the latest update for this mod because, in the next year, we start with the advanced project SpyWall EVO (Evolution).

The continuous updates testify, however, the commitment not to leave long-bug versions available.

In addition, at each update, say what fixes the new version. Many times there is no need to download the update as some bugs may be present only in specific circumstances. That's why we say what we've updated.

I sure wish you would make some changes, so we could drop additional templates in all of your modules templates directories, so we have an easy way to override the default styling.  In all of you modules, you include the default style.css from an encrypted php file.,  This makes it difficult to customize styling for multiple templates.  You can do this with most modules... but not any of yours.

As it is now, to customize styling for multiple templates, I have to leave the default style.css in place, but remove all of it's contents, otherwise, it is impossible to override and styling.  Then I have to make copies of the default templates, and call the stylesheet from _header.html of my various templates.  Another annoyance, is that your stylesheets reference images by their absolute server url, and all those have to be edited too, when customizing the style for multiple templates.

You could make this a lot easier for us, by adopting  the conventional template system that modules use.

Right now, I'm working on customizing 1 Column for 4 different templates, and it's driving me nuts.

What is the usefulness of the link titled 'News Feed'?  It has nothing to do with a news feed, and it links to the page you are already on.  I don't see the point.  I want to remove the link, but it seems as though the file that contains this bit of code, is encrypted.

About the question on 1Col, we have decided to give the capability to choose what link to display (one by one) in the next update because, for example, some customer dont love the link at the subscriptions.

The sense of the "News feed" link is the same of the "News feed" link of the facebook account page.

I still have issues with the movies on the wall never loading when clicked. If I delete the page block cache then it works for a while then stops again. Any ideas?

In the demo site we have installed a new beta version of SpyWall that adds this news:

1) Support of the multitemplate site: now you can simple copy the folder ibdw/spywall/templates/uni and rename this folder with the same name of your template. The same for the other templates. More details into the market post very soon.

2) You can choose to display the default boonex small avatar style or a new simple avatar in facebook style.

This second feature is under development and we hope to publish the new spywall very very soon.

A simple button that redirects to the video upload page...maybe we add this feature in the future SpyWall 1.9.

I copied the uni template folder in IWDB spywall and created another folder by the name of my template and paste everything there but i still have some problem with CSS in the share buttons and delet buttons .

I un-installed the previous version (1.87) and then I installed version 1.9. following the instructions which I have treble checked.

Do you add the lang-key "'_ibdw_spywall_event_name' => 'Event'" manually? If so, please remove it before install the new version.

It's correct...maybe you have added the missing lang key directly from the administration so when you install the update the query generate an error because there are 2 instances of this lang key. This type of problem is not present if you have added this lang key into the file ibdw/spywall/install/langs/en.php.

So, if you have got this error, you must to remove this lang key before to install the update.

Also, today we have published the update 1.9.1 that solve the problem with the redirect.php file, that it's present in some case.

Sorry for the inconvenience, SpyWall is a very complex mod, but thanks your reports we are encouraged to develop a version even better.

This message, visible only at the administrator, it's displayed when the administrator changes a profile information, but, I repeat, this news feed is visible only for the administrator. The profile changed sees not this action. When is the profile changes the own informations, then in this case the news feed will be displayed to the profile owner.

You know, I bitch and moan every day about Boonex and how they stretch out their software updates (it's been better lately though)

May I make a suggestion? Do all the fixes you want, we really appreciate it but maybe you should limit your updates to once a month or once every two months? Seems like I'm installing a spywall update weekly!

I wanted actually buy this module but from posts in this thread seems like its still not stable enough for live site. For price module is sold I would expect much better stability and less bugs than its now. At this stage by my opinion module is not worth its price  :-(

freakpower you've got that wrong. The SpyWall works great, period.

Ilbellodelweb keeps improving the base code and  upgrading it's features. If a problem is reported he solves it as soon as is possible. Most of those problems are due to different mods and various other code mods interfering. This is a problem every coder faces, ask Microsoft.

As for the price, it is about the only mod out there worth the asking price, why? because the SpyWall is great and the support is 1st class.

My 2 cents worth.

Are you kidding me?  It's more stable than Boonex. :)  This mod has a lot of stuff and it's a great price for it.  I feel sorry for anyone who's not getting this.  Boonex's wall is pointless.

yes, it's better but not all the updates are mandatory.

Sometime we publish an update only to add one or more feature sometime only to solve an important bug. The customer, when is not necessary, can decide to wait before to update own module. But each site have different situation: different template and 3d party modules installed, this the reason of these frequent updates.

In the lase version, for example, you and houstonlively, if I remember well, have required that SpyWall is template friendly. So we have added this feature.

DOes your spywall have this feature ?

you  maybe didn't follow the instructions about the template (look again in the instructions).

you have to copy the "uni" folder from template and rename it like your template name.

Also, don't forget to clear your cache

News...today we have published the SpyWall 1.9.3 that:

1) solve a little bug when a video is in approval status (we have added a </div> missing)

2) set the template uni as default when a custom template is installed. So if you create a custom template style for spywall correctly your site uses this new style, otherwise uses the default spywall style.

If you have installed the SpyWall 1.9.2, you can only overwrite the files of the spywall folder (not the subdirectory).

I try with other account, and instead of showing the username of the person that change his profil, it show the relaname of the person reading the wall.

I read this answer, but it is not correct ! It is not only when an administrator change a profil, but it happen every time an user change is profil.

So I have people asking me why it show that they change their profil when they wasn't even online.

I hope now it is more clear. When REALNAME enable, it show the name of the friend looking at the wall message and not the name of the person that change his profil.

I wanted to make a suggestion for the next update for SpyWall.

Currently, whenever you post a photo in a Photo Album, the thumbnail is displayed on the SpyWall,

The issue is, whenever someone creates a photo album, then uploads 100 pictures to it, it displays 100 separate thumbnails (entries) on the SpyWall. So what I normally have to do is manually delete 99 spywall entries so that only 1 thumbnail shows and then provide a link to the album.

Is there any way that you could get the SpyWall to behave more like Facebook? Meaning, that it only makes 1 entry on the SpyWall with 1 thumbnail?

Example:

- User creates a photo album

- User uploads 50 photos

- SpyWall displays an entry similar to this “ Admin has added a new Photo Album”

Admin – would be linked to my profile

Photo Album – would be linked to the new photo album

Thumbnail – would display the thumbnail of the LAST photo uploaded to that album.

Also, if someone has ‘added’ more photos to an existing album, the SpyWall would display this:

Admin has added new photos to Album Name (Album Name would be the actual name of the photo album)

(Same links would apply as above, and display the thumbnail of the LAST photo uploaded)

This would help from people either having to manually delete all the unwanted SpyWall posts OR another member having to hit ‘Older News’ to be able to scroll through all of them or see any other wall postings.

I'm guessing that this has more to do with Boonex spy, than spywall itself.  I remember about two years ago telling Boonex that posting a notification of every single photo was ridiculous.  Do you remember when first the large photo was posted  to the wall, instead of just a thumbnail?

Perhaps ilbellodelweb should write his own version of Boonex's Spy. There have been a number of issue's with the News mod that were down to the Boonex Spy module.

The architecture of the dolphin db dont allow for immediate solutions.

The main problem is to always read from the same table bx_spy_data, since all modules (spy and spy-oriented 3d party modules) write here.
To aggregate the information it's necessary to make many queries, and this will certainly have impacts on resource consumption (memory) and execution time (speed). However on several occasions we anticipated that this will be a feature that will work in a more advanced version.

I would like to vote for this as well.  The other "comment" system in Dolphin puts the most recent comment on the bottom (video comments, photo comments, forums, and more).  It seems completely backwards to have the most recent comment on Spywall on top.  I hope this is a configurable option in the very near future.

I would also like to see when you post a link in the news feed it gives you thumbnail like facebook instead of the link without the thumbnail.

It looks good! The profile is a horrible page at the moment... until now! A couple of things - is will be confusing for a new user to upload/choose an Avatar when joining a new site... then have to select/upload another picture for their profile picture. Is it possible to choose the existing 'avatar' as the profile picture?

When will it be possible to delete/hide posts generated by other friends? For example if one friend rates many groups... this will be shown in the friend's wall. It is the main complaint from our users.

That is only your opinion, which I strongly disagree with.  There is nothing ugly about this mod.  The comment system is just fine, and it would ruin this module to grow it into something big and bloated, like the "real dolphin comments", as you put it.

I asked here already but nobody answered.

Does spywall allow also inform about all news by email ? If not it will be great to add this feature - user can set if want to be informed once a day, once a wekk, once a month ....

... or never.   There was a Dolphin site that I joined, but I had to quit because I got an email every time the admin did even the most trivial thing... it was extremely annoying.

I mean user will set what events, performed by who and how often he want to be informed so this way user can for example set that want to be informed by email only about photo activity of certian user and send that user activity summary once a week i n once email or so... so this way every user will have choice to set it to suit his needs...

I have tried to copy the uni folder back into the directory with the name of my second skin. all cache (including browser) and it has made no difference. What am I missing?

I had the same problem because the name of my skin (as his folder) was different that the name I had to use.

It have to be exactly the name that is written after skin=: http://yousite.com/index.php?skin=THISNAME

Generally, to know the name of your template you can open the file templates/nameofyourtemplate/BxTemplName.php

in this case the file that you must open is: templates/tmpl_simpleWhiteMoon_purple/BxTemplName.php

into this file you can see this line:

so, the name is simpleWhiteMoon_purple, and not tmpl_simpleWhiteMoon_purple (that is only the folder name).

That is the display name used in the drop down menu selection. I tried changing it to match, no effect... (yes, I cleared all cache each time0

Maybe you could just allow us to disable the feature entirely? We already have another mod that displays new photos and albums as they are added. Doing it in the spywall seems a little redundant to me anyway. It would sure clear up all the repetitive posts.

PS, I am still having problems with delete buttons and white lines everywhere in my custom template. Cannot seem to resolve it short of some serious doktoring

The compatibility is for IE8 native, not in "compatibility mode".

IE8 work, in compatibility mode, as IE7 and dont support some style and function.

This is also written in the description of the modules.

Today we have updated all our modules.

About SpyWall, if you have installed in your site the version 1.9.6, you can only overwrite the files (if you have customized your language files and/or the style, make a backup of the module in order to apply your changes to the new files)

For previous version you must uninstall and reinstall the module.

A word of warning to anyone thinking of purchasing this module, as with all of IBDW's modules, the files are encypted!

Unless you are using the bog standard default Boonex Dolphin template, as it comes, out of the box, approach purchasing this module with caution. Anyone actually running a business, it would be expected that you have customised/modified your site and/or are using a custom template. For a heavily modified and custom site such as mine, we encountered a number of problems/issues. After much negotiation, IBDW did get it working for us free of charge however only for us to find that it required major CSS work (this, not a problem and to be expected and were happy to do) but not only that, the module, it's features and integration with the rest of the Boonex platform fell a long way short of our expectations.

1. You can't edit a lot of the entries in the newsfeed via language keys.

2. There are no email or site notifications with this module whatsoever so if a member writes on a wall, there is no way of knowing other than to check etc etc.

3. ALL of the coding is encrypted so you can't edit the module in any way whatsoever, even the CSS is a right pain to get right. It looks terrible on our website and we are planning to remove the module soon if we get round to developing our own before IBDW improves theirs. Unfortunately, we learnt the hard way though by purchasing the module, were refused unencrypted code after explaining how we needed to make it better for our site in order for us to continue using it and of course, were refused a refund.

I've not come on here to disrespect the modules developer at all, it's just a word of warning that there is no flexibility with this module at all and it doesn't add any other value to your members' profiles other than it looks like Facebook's.

Please advise us of what the updates are or where we can read your development changelog?

hmmm I think ibellodelweb placed too many restrictions as prevention for code stealers but those preventions restrict too much and make life much harder to normal users with no intention to steal anything  What for I will buy extension which will most probably not work in my modded site ? Im this way pushed to use ibello custom work and pay him extra money for site modification. I think if you have this restrictions you should at least offer free support to make spywall to work on modified sites... I almost wanted to buy this extension as it looks really good but with all thet restrictions and terms and conditions.... :-( bad luck must go without spywall...

I want to say something about this, because I see SO MANY people requiring unencrypted versions of the ilbellodelweb modules.

I think ilbellodelweb had a great idea.

Encryption is NECESSARY.

Just try to use Google, you will see how many modules are stolen every day.

This is not good, absolutely not.

Each trader here sell commercial products, and NOT open source products.

It means that you can't modify the mod, you can't resell it and you can't use it on more than one domain.

There is a lot of work behind a mod. Days of work and money.

Why should a trader allows another trader or you to modify a commercial mod?

Why should you be able to use the mod on more than one domain name?

There are no reasons.

When you ask for modifications, you are sharing the code. You can't share the code of a mod that is commercial.

It means that if you want some modifications on a commercial mod, you must pay the mod creator and NOT any other programmer or trader.

So I really think ilbellodelweb had a great idea, and I hope many others will do the same.

It's important to protect the code of a mod, it's important to protect our work.

If you want to protect your home, you will close the door, well, this is the same concept!

Seems a variable is missing.

Try to replace this file with a fresh one, maybe it's corrupted:

modules/ibdw/megaprofile/core.php

And clean up your cache by manually deleting all the files in the folders cache/ and cache_public.

DO NOT delete any .htaccess, but only the cache files.

I agree.  There are ripoff sites like modmysite.com where unscrupulous site admins freely allow theft of commercial mods.

I see no problem with developers protecting their work by encrypting the code but when I contact them privately to request unencrypted version so I can make a few modifications in order for it to provide value to my site, they had full FTP access to my website, could see the nature of my business, can clearly identify from the Boonex community and marketplace that I have never sold a module, have no involvement with developing modules for Boonex nor have any intention of doing so, it would not have hurt to have at least negotiated or come to some sort of discussion. I would have even signed a document agreeing to never resell any or all parts of their work if I had to because all I'm interested in is developing my website.

I had a similar situation with another module I purchased that was encrypted and they happily allowed me to use an unencrypted version so I could make a few changes on my site. There has never been a problem with this.

Fair enough if there are loads of public requests for unencrypted versions, you don't know the individuals nor can they show you a successful business they are running using the Boonex software, then there is grounds to be suspicious.

It's convenient how that the one concern I had with this module and reason for needing unencrypted module was to build in email notifications and site notifications into the mod which, now they are looking to include even they weren't interested when I was trying to state the module was worthless without it. Oh well. Sometimes you wonder why you try and help developers make their work better. Either way, great of them to address this and announce they will be adding this in as a free module - kudos to IBDW for this.

Encrypted files, domain lock, license validation, domain transfer prohibited - I think this come too far...common people code stealers are usually childs who play with a component, if it got encrypted they move on to other component . Everybody who think seriously about using dolphin or any other software will actually buy it - because of support, because of updates, because of no legal problems. If in any product is too many prevention against thieves final results is its very contraproductive and the only one who are finally most affected by this are current and potential honest customers without intention to steal anything. With all thoe restrictions ibello put on his products I would expect at least trial version so customers can test if it gonna work on their site out of the box or if they will be forced to pay ibello extra money in order to let spywall work on their modded site....

Try reducing the amount of friends to 2 in profile settings in admin>advanced settings then clear cache and see if that.

Still no word ilbellodelweb on working with EASE on the wap mod. My members keep asking about a mobile app. I'm waiting to see if you will colab with EASE before purchasing this mod

I also want to say a fews words about the encrypting of the code.

I do understand the need of protect it.

But it will be very good if the configuration will give more freedom about waht we can do with the mods.

For exemple I don't use the event mod from boonex, but a better one. In 1Col from IDBW, it was possible in the configuration menu from 1col to change the link to my modificated URL. Unfortunately in SPYWALL the same is not possible. And this is really petty.

Other side I don't use the chat system from boonex but a better one and in 1col when you activate the "friends online" you can not choose the chat mod or desactivate it.

AS I SAID ALREADY THIS ARE SOME OF THE BEST MODS IN THE MARKET, and I really recommand them. Just Please IDBW give us more freedom in the configuration menu of your mods as we don't have access to the code.

the owner can already delete own post, not the "I like/Unlike".

I meant including their friends posts too... just like Admin can do. It is not good for a member to have to view every tiny piece of information on their own wall from someone else... and have no option to delete it.

The owner of the profile wall can delete all the news in the own wall.

I logged in as another user and they can only delete news generated by their own activities. For example if friend ABC makes a profile post or update or new friend... it is shown on the member's wall and they are unable to delete the post generated by their friend's activities.

Today we have released the new updates for:

• IBDW SpyWall (1.9.8)
• IBDW 1COL (2.6)
• IBDW 3COL (2.7)
• IBDW MegaProfile (1.8)

These updates only add the support of the new free module IBDW Email Notification.

So update the modules and install IBDW Email Notification to add this feature.

It's correct, you can delete only a post of your wall, not from the general wall. If I write a message in your wall, and later you delete this my post from your wall, then this news not appears also in the account page.

Only the owner of the post can delete own post.

And only the owner of the profile wall, can delete the post of the own wall.

It seems it's technically not possible then if you have not already done it. So what about a 'hide' button if delete is too extreme? User A does not need to see that User B has clicked 'like' on 25 friends, or joined 50 groups etc. It fills the wall of all User B's friends.

Give it a rest already about the encryption.  It clearly states in the description that the module is NOT OPEN SOURCE., so stop whining already. The author has encrypted the code to protect his work.  What make you so deserving of special treatment???  The code's encrypted, you're not getting an unencrypted version, so deal with it already.

well whenever I also dont like encryption of files as main group of people who affect it are honest customers - thieves just move to another mod -  its ibellos mod and he decided this way so we can either accept it and buy mod or not :-) Anyway what I would kindly ask you Ibello - Can you provide us - potential buyers some trial version of your mod so we can test if its gonna work on our modded site or not ? I think its a fair becasue if mod is encoded and you are only one who can edit that (for money) to work on more problematoc sites I think we should deserve ability to test it prior to buy ...

I dont understand why some customers write to request that clearly will not be given. We have about 1000 customers here, fortunately only 10-15 clients prefer to waste their time on things that we can't provide, we must respect the policy of our company.
Those few customers, we believe, that they should read before buying (it only takes a minute to read the terms of sale).

When you want to buy something, first you must read features, prices and terms, and then decide whether to buy or not.

We dont like to waste time saying what's obvious, but the conditions of sale shall be read before and not after, the price is decided by the seller and not by the buyer.

We prefer to devote our time to add the most requested features and more interesting to our modules. Our clients are now all the real people. Where possible we add new features free of charge to our modules.

Responding to those who ask for everything that is against the policy of our company, there is only wasting time and this slows down our production and support activities. So those who continue in this direction will have no answers.

Our time is required to add functionality to the support and development. This is a forum for technical support. The trade policy should be read before any purchase. So, we will only respond to requests for technical support and suggestion post.

For me I only asking if you can release some trial version of your modules so it can be tested on site if its gonna work out of box or if it will require additional investments and we will have to buy your modification service. As product is encrypted (so we cant modify it ourselves) and you dont offer money back guarantee, trial is the only way how can be product tested if it will work on concrete site or not.......Sorry to ask here I know its mainly for tech support but where else can I ask ?

They offer a demo site to show all the modules in their unedited/unmodified original state for you to try them out.

You are right but thats the problem - many people have heavily modded sites (not using only boonex clean install) so its not clear if mod will work out of box or not  and than extra money will be needed and ibello have to be hired to fix that- only way how to find out if mod will work out of box is a trial version or money back guarantee - I think moneyback guarantee is something ibello will never do so trial is a fair way. All restrictions can against thieves can be there and honest customers can at least test product on their site and than decide.

I have this mod Freakpower and I like it. I read the restrictions before I bought it, something you should do if you want to use it. If you don't, then buzz the hell off. I think I speak for a very large portion of the members here when I say we are sick of listening to your crap!

I think this can be usefully, when you upload a local video, sometime the preview is black or blank because the preview thumb is the first frame of the video.

So, the preview in spywall is only a black/blank rectangle. If you want you can decide to generate the thumb from the next frame.

For example if you want get the thumb from a frame after 5 seconds, you can modify the file

/flash/modules/video/inc/functions.inc.php

search this function

function grabImages($sInputFile, $sOutputFile, $iSecond = 0, $bForse = false)

and change to:

function grabImages($sInputFile, $sOutputFile, $iSecond = 5, $bForse = false)

I have a question, I am trying to use permissions set at only public for both default dolphin vids and pics and the spywall vids and pics. This does not work it generally sets the dolphin fine but spywall locked all the time? or vice versa spywall will be fine at public only if i set dolphin default to anything other than public? Basically cannot have both set on public? Any ideas...

my dropdown within the spywall admin area is set to public but i did notice the dropdown text is 'pubblic' 2 b's? anything to do with this?

are you not aware about single domain license? IBDW module offered single domain license and you are not able to re-use it to other domain except you buy another license for your new domain. As far as i know if you are going to buy another domain license they are giving you a discount. thats all i know.

scoopers:single domain license in 99% can be transferred to new domain (if product is discountinued on old one) for free in 99% of cases. Im using over 20 commercial joomla components which have one domain license and encrypted files and from that only one have same restriction that transfer is prohibited so usual is that license transfer is a free of charge. Anyway ibellodelweb set this restrictions so I dont want to polemise about that. He is a developer so have full right to do so - doesnt matter if I like it or not. but truth is give a less restrictions to make more customers happy is by my opinion better way than restrict too much as in this case.

emcct:well i dont like this either but you do a choice - either accept that or dont buy it so its all up to you :-) (I choosed to not buy this mod under that conditions) . but this is mainly support forum so maybe next time will be better to start a new thread for that sort of staff and not post it here as some of people here (not me) might get piissed off :-)..

Thanks for the information.  as per my experience of buying license most of them are just offer a license just for 1 domain then not allowed  to use to other site.

But from his case he discontinued his site and create new one. he has a point.

scoopers: yes you righ they have one domain license and for more licenses you have to pay but if you just want change license from one domain to another (and stop using product on old one) like in cause you just want change domain name for your site in 99% developers change this for free. Of course if I want use product on 5 sites simultaneously than its different cause and than is acceptable to charge for license for every site .. but if you want just change a domain for example if you decided your domain name isnt good or you want use product first on test site than i beliebve this should be free as you stil, use product only on one domain (only changed domain name) but thats only my opinion ... usually it is free at least from my experience

Exactly what I mean. I find it very sad that my post was edited, since I AM allowed to speak my mind. People don't read the rules when they buy stuff (well ok maybe 1% does, but common? Do you read the 500 page terms when u sign up for an email? NO u don't.)

What really pisses me off here, is that this is a shamefull act, just to earn more money. When you buy a product it's urs to use. Just because you change the domain name, does NOT mean you should thorw everything out.

When you move to a new house / appartment, why do you move your stuff? I mean, why not just buy brand new clothing, bed, couch, etc etc?(Or perhaps next time your buy your TV, or computer, it should be locked to 1 specific room, and if you want to use a computer in a different room, you should buy a new one? HAHA.. I'm sorry, I just couldnt rest, since this ifs SO ridicilious)

It is VERY important to WARN people about this seller, because as stated above, 99% of people don't have this rule. (I think acually its 99,99%, i've never seen anyone but him that have this RIDICILIOUS rule. Just look at ur boonex licence. If u change domain, u release it and re-register ur licence. U don't have to buy a new licence.. LOGIC since you already own the product!)

P.s. This con man of a seller, dosen't ask you to pay a fee to change the domain, he asks you to THROW ur licence out the window and buy a new one. Again, next time you move to a new place, please throw EVERYTHING out, and start from 0%, THEN argue with me.

I would like to report a performance issue regarding spywall.

When the registered users count in dolphin reaches big numbers (in my case about 230.000), spywall in the homepage (only in the homepage) takes a long time to load, causing very big delays in the total loading of the page (sometimes up to 10 seconds). It is probably a database query that needs optimization. Bello, could you take a look at it and maybe provide an optimized version of spywall?

Ive just bought your mod for my site.... The problem is that when a user embeds and youtube video on wall it doesnt appear in the news feed......

are some language key missing??? or any other problem??

Love this mod, but I'm having a couple of issues, sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but I couldn't find a support thread for this mod and I'm not getting responses on these issues for the past week... so this is  kinda my last resort:

Problem #1: I think I'm missing a file in my IBDW install. I keep getting error msg reports saying: "File does not exist: /home/xxxxxx/public_html/modules/ibdw/spywall/templates/uni/css/immagini/0.jpg, referer: xxxxxxx" Is there an image 0.jpg? Is there supposed to be an image named 0.jpg?

Problem #2: one member uploads something to a group and it shows up on the main wall as uploading to someone else's group.It shows up incorrect for some members but not for others, which is also odd. It may have something to do w/ the member who's group is mentioned (for ex.this last error it showed up as in one of my groups, I can see the glitch text but other people can't, evidently ... although when I log in as another member on a different browser I still see the error, so that may not be it).

Problem #3: not all actions show up on the wall for all members, is there some sort of filter in place that limits what is posted and what isn't? For example 2 different members joined w/i hours of each other and both uploaded pics. Only one showed up on the wall. I would like to change this filter so that everyone shows up on the wall equally.
