Since the GEO Locator module is so powerful and brings endless oportunities for developers who want to make use of the GEO capabilities, I have decided to no longer offer this module for its introductory price of $20.

Starting Monday the 8th of July I will raise the price of the GEO Locator to $35 for the v1.x versions.

The next release (v1.1) will contain some bugfixes and further optimised code and is planned to be released in two weeks time.

For version 2.0 I want to completely rewrite the core to make an GEO object available with toolkit, having the current interactive map and the automatic form filler as fully working samples how to use the toolkit. Prices for the toolkit are not yet known but people who already bought the GEO Locator will continue to receive support and free upgrades, also when v2 is going to be released.

To stimulate people to leave feedback I'm going to give away a $10 voucher every month that people can use when buying my modules or services. I'm currently working on an alert system for Dolphin, which I also expect to release in two weeks time! And have some cool ideas planned for a next module code name "killer whale" Sealed

I've integrated the GEO Locator with other mods and am sure this can be done with the jobs mod as well. If you PM me with further details, I should be able to give you a quote for that.

I just released v1.1.0 of the GEO Locator.

It contains:

- some bugfixes

- further integration with existing Dolphin functionality

- Updates location information on world map edits.

- Easier to display maps on other pages.

- Option to enable/disable "Last known GEO"

There is not (yet) an update path, but people who have v1.0.0 installed can PM me for further details.

GEO Locator v1.2.0 is work in progress!

Since it's a site migration it most likely is a permission issue. Please check your file permissions and who is the owner/group of the files.

This does not seem to be the problem.

So, when I look at your demo it correctly identifies my city for the weather but just shows a blue screen on the map,as if I live in an ocean.  my location, orinda, ca, usa.

Strange, since both use the same GEO Location.

If you want we can have a look together and solve whatever the issue might be.

what is the difference between this and what dolphin already has (join/worldmap)?

Quote · 30 Aug 2015

The difference is that the world map takes a location you choose as the centre of the map, while the GEO Locator "tracks" and uses the visitors location as the centre of the map. This ensures that people see profiles/groups/events/etc local to their location. Besides showing these local maps , it also automatically fills forms with city and country information.

I'm about to release v2.0.0 of the GEO Locator and this version will support any module that uses the worldmap. It supports routemaps (so people get the route from their location to, for example an event) and has a build-in toolkit to instantly get a users location (latitude/longitude/city/country/zip) and over 20 geo functions to make any other module location aware.

Is this still available and working?  I want my users to see events directly associated with there current location with out having to put in any search information.

I followed instructions and it broke the site immediately with notice saying "Invalid License Key". Instructions said I have 14 days to get the license.

I found a license key in the Boonex Market Download page for the module.

I renamed the Dene folder in modules to get my site back online.   So what now?

Please update instructions.

I have a question regarding your geo-locator module: https://www.boonex.com/m/geo-locator

Question: Does the module automatically add a geo position for each registered member? In other words,  each member doesn't have to manually add his/her position in the world map module but can rely on your module to set the position for them?

Best regards
