good work HL http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/paansystems - your resource for Dolphin Pro |
Don't give me too much credit. Much of this work was done by a guy in Netherlands, but it does not seem to be under any active development for over a year. It had a lot of bugs that needed fixed, but I'm gradually getting them resolved. I'm working on a site, where user contributed writings will be a primary focus, and wanted the editor to be easy to use. One important thing to note, is that all this comes at a cost. Moxiecodes MCImagemanager and MCFilemanager plugins will cost $100 US, and AndrewP's integration will add another $20. If you want to build a site where users are encouraged to submit content, I believe any money spent towards making content contribution a more enjoyable experience for your members, is money well spent. If that process is tedious and confusing, no one will want to deal with it. What this Theme does, is assign big buttons for all the most important layout features... all the things that you need to easily do to create good looking documents. Easily uploading images from your computer, inserting them into your document, and easily resizing them and aligning them once in your document, is one thing this theme and the Moxicode plugins is better at. Inserted tables will already be styled to fit the template colors, and I'll have some predefined styles that users can apply to text and other elements via a drop down selector. The Google map plugin was a good find... users can insert a google map of a location, set the size, and zoom level. If enough people are interested in this, I might consider putting a Dolphin ready product in the market that included the Moxiecode MCImagemanager and MCFilemanager plugins. I would have to commit to a $1200 Enterprise license to do so, and won't do that if interest is small. It would also have to bundle AndrewP's integration. Even if that doesn't happen, or isn't viable, you'll still be able to purchase all the plugins on your own, and put it all together. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
i own this plugins already and know how to implement it into tinymce, so i would just be interessted in the theme i think ;) where to get it? http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/paansystems - your resource for Dolphin Pro |
oh yeah, found it already ... thanks for the hint ;) http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/paansystems - your resource for Dolphin Pro |
RE oh yeah, found it already ... thanks for the hint ;) I deliberately did not mention where to get the Theme, to avoid a ton of questions from DIY'ers. The thought of a market option, would be for those that do not want to deal with separate plugin purchases, integrations, and file edits. I certainly wouldn't buy an Enterprise license for $1200 if I didn't think I'd recoup the investment. I just put this all out here to see if anyone else would find it an attractive option for their site. If someone wants the theme minus the required plugins, they can have it..... once I have made all the proper adjustments. So can you give me the English version of if i have interest how much it would cost me for that interest? Csampson |
It sort of has the Microsoft Office ribbon look to it. If one does not mind a less featured file manager, you can use the tinybrowser free version and save some money; it will incorporate and there is a forum topic where I helped someone to add it. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Isn't that what we already have? Csampson |
So can you give me the English version of if i have interest how much it would cost me for that interest? As I said, the Moxiecode imagemanager + filemanager plugins if purchased together are $100. AndrewP's integration for these plugins is $20. That's $120. IF I purchased an Enterprise license for $1200 and bundled everything up as a single package, my primary concern would be to recoup the $1200. Obviously, if less than 10 people wanted something like this, a market product isn't a viable option. On the other hand, if 20 or more people wanted this bundle, the price would be around half the cost of someone purchasing all the components separately. In any case, the maximum cost to implement is $120. No... I have no expectations of making a profit off any of this..... nor do I care if anyone wants this. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
RE If one does not mind a less featured file manager, you can use the tinybrowser free version and save some money; it will incorporate and there is a forum topic where I helped someone to add it.
Everybody here knows about TinyBrowser and everybody here knows it's free. This topic it about site owners that are more concerned with quality members, quality content, and the right tools to encourage such, rather than site owners that just want thousands of members to cram google ads down their throats. Sure... if you have a site where none of the members could form a complete sentence to save their lives, this is not for you.
Congratulations on that TinyBrowser thing...... somebody give geek girl a banana. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |

HL, you don't have to be an arse all the time. Actually you are not offering anyone anything but a theme for TinyMCE that actually takes up more room on the editor. You keep pushing MCImagemanger + MCFilemanager all the time when there are dozens of the same tools on SourceForge for free and integrating them is easy. So take your TinyMCE theme and put it where the sun does not shine. Geeks, making the world a better place |
By the way, don't forget about the license you are operating under: 1. You may copy and distribute verbatim copies of the Library's Geeks, making the world a better place |
In other words, you can not put the office ribbon theme/plugin into any package you intend to sell. You will have to bundle it separately for free. Personally I would not have cared but you had to be nasty to me. Geeks, making the world a better place |

You keep pushing MCImagemanger + MCFilemanager all the time when there are dozens of the same tools on SourceForge for free and integrating them is easy. So take your TinyMCE theme and put it where the sun does not shine. And you don't have to be an obsessive, compulsive shitpicker, that likes to dwell on the irrelevant. Let's get a few things straight. I don't give two shits about selling ANY product in this market or making any profit off of this captive audience on boonex.com You could probably add up all the profits of all the sellers on this site, and it would probably not be enough to entice me. If you were a little better at reading comprehension, you would see that the concept of me bundling this up as a market product with an enterprise license for imagemanager and filemanager, would result in people being able to purchase those two products for less than they could at Moxiecode. Gee... what a fcked up thing for me to do.... come up with a way for people to get something for half price. I am well aware of code licensing. This isn't my first rodeo, so stop the cut'n paste crap, and stop cluttering this topic with your usual obsession of the irrelevant. Contrary to what you may believe, not everyone here always wants the thrifty way out. The serious guys... the one's that have been around a while and are determined to stay around, are the ones that want the best available products..... that includes Moxiecodes MCImagemanager & MCFilemanager. There are many advantages of using plugins developed by the same people that developed TinyMCE. 1. They work 2. They will always be updated 3. The developers won't just disappear quietly into the night as some tinymce plugin developers have. Peace of mind is a wonderful thing to have. Notice: If, in the event I post a bundled product in the market, once I recover the initial investment of $1200, any profits thereafter will be donated to charity. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
Im calling 1st dibbs on the "Charity". That way I can become the owner of a shiny brand new 2013 Enterprise license too. After maybe 3 of those, I will pass the charity on to the next in need of charity. Ultra Newb reporting for duty. |
OMG can you two just kiss and make up and get over the wasted drama spent between the both of you? No really we are all here to get a better site and really the drama although entertaining is such a waste of time and energy. I am interested in the what you are putting together HL and I could care less GG if it is free just as long as it can be installed and works. It seems everyone here has a problem when people take the time to make things better with a free product. Do i care no not one second if in the end the end product is better for god sakes time is money and if you spend the time do make things better and it comes from a trash can I could care less so please just count me in for whatever you want to make this happen. I like the ease of use and so will my end users. Csampson |

Huston, Pm sent. One thing comes to mind when you say that you can upload videos from within the Tinymce editor, with MCImagemanger and MCFilemanage, will, or can this include Amazon S3 configuration option from Dolphin to upload, and store images & videos.

RE: or can this include Amazon S3 configuration option from Dolphin to upload, and store images & videos.
Not yet. I believe this will be included in V4 of Imagemanager and Filemanager. Moxicode has not set a release date for that version, and I believe it is currently in alpha testing. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
This is a game changer for Dolphin, one of main concerns for me, and I believe many of us has been the storing of large images & video files combined with site performance. From what I see the current version 3.5.8 can be adapted to, while very tricky to work imagemanager and Filemanager with Amazon S3. However V4, is due for release anytime now, includes Amazon S3 Support, and other options.
Thanks Huston, this is a must have, bring it on. From the land DownUnder |
RE: and I believe many of us has been the storing of large images & video files combined with site performance.
Even with the eventual S3 support, this will not address those issues in their entirety. Only content posted via TinyMCE and imagemanager/filemanager will be affected. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
Yes I understand, as I am looking at developing a newspaper related site, posting large image & video files with news articles, blogs and classifieds related content, I was already looking for possible options for members to be able to upload & store images & videos direct to my Amazon account and stream or embed back, V4 is looking like it will provide just that.

RE: newspaper related site, posting large image & video files with news articles, blogs and classifieds related content,
Then V4 should be a help. Currently the way the MCimagemanager/MCFilemanager works, is that I have a main storage folder in my site's root named 'UserUploads'. In that folder are two subfolders, 'files' and 'media'. MCFilemanager will store user uploads in 'files', and MCImagemanager will store user uploads in 'media'. The first time any user uploads a file or media, a sub folder will be created in either the 'files' or 'media' folder, with a name that corresponds to the users numerical ID. That folder will be where all the users files or media will be stored, and the user can create any number of sub folders within their assigned primary folder to organize their uploads. A typical basic folder structure might look like this: UserUploads (System folder) Files (System folder) 1 (automatically created for user ID='1' by MCFilemanager. User cannot access anything above this folder.) zip (folders at this level and below are created by the user) doc Media (System folder) 2 (automatically created for user ID='2' by MCImagemanager. User cannot access anything above this folder.) photos (folders at this level and below are created by the user) videos music
This is how AndrewP's imagemanager integration works to create separate storage per User ID on a standard web server. Obviously, there would need to be an imagemanager/Dolphin/S3 integration done to give each user their own unique storage path, but it shouldn't be anything too complicated. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
One thing to note about the plugins from Moxiecode is that while they operate as plugins to TinyMCE, they can also operate as a standalone app. Here's a video that shows MCImagemanager in an html block on the account page. You don't have to be editing a document with TinyMCE to use the app. You can upload and do basic editing to images prior to using them in documents created with TinyMCE. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |

I hope that it can easily be done, until V4 is released, and Andrew has a chance to see how the S3 integration would work, we would be only guessing, there could also be better options that come with the V4 release as it looks like it has been a long time in the making, and testing. In any case the current TinyMCE + MCImagemanger + MCFilemanager is a great add as is, do you have any time frame when this could be available. From the land DownUnder |

In any case the current TinyMCE + MCImagemanger + MCFilemanager is a great add as is, do you have any time frame when this could be available. I was speaking in terms of when V4 is released... until then, forget it. The filemanager & imagemanager plugins are available from Moxiecode and with AndreewP's integration, you can have all the capabilities right now. All I'm doing here is putting some work into an existing theme so it all is more user friendly... especially for sites that want to build quality written content contributed by members. For the dating site wannabes, and the porn site wannabes, this is about as important as balancing a budget to a Democrat, so I don't expect a lot of interest around here. It will probably be another week or two before I'm satisfied that this all works OK. I doubt I will get the Enterprise license for the Moxiecode plugins... there's just not enough interest to take that route. Anybody that want's to get a head start, should purchase at least the MCImagemanager from Moxiecode, and optionally MCFilemanager if you want file upload/insert/ files into TinyMCE posts for downloading. Then apply AndrewP's imagemanager integration. Adding this theme will just involve uploading theme files to /plugins/tiny_mce/themes/ and replacing your Dolphin templates BxTemplEditorTinyMCE.php file. There's also a few TinyMCE plugins that will need to be uploaded. I could also just provide the complete /plugins/tiny_mce folder... void of the paid plugins, of course. Then all you'd have to do is rename the original tiny_mce folder prior to upload. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |

any news on this HL? http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/paansystems - your resource for Dolphin Pro |
RE: any news on this HL? I am still working on getting image editing simplified and more intuitive. I still have more work to do to improve the overall interface. I also want to work on some predefined styles for various page elements, instead of giving users free reign over font colors and background colors. I want users to have freedom to create good looking documents that match the overall look of a site. I don't want them to be able to freely mix text colors and make documents that are a big ugly mess. If you give someone the tools to make an ugly aesthetic mess, that's exactly what they will do....myspace.com proved that theory. As geek girl so kindly pointed out, this theme uses a lot more space on the page. I made it even bigger that the original author. That was deliberate. The result is that the post you are editing will match the post that is saved. If the saved post will be 800px wide, then you shouldn't be editing it in a 600px wide editor, because it won't be anywhere close to wysiwyg. There is work to to to ensure that the MCE editor content css matched the css of the saved document. In a default dolphin installation, it does not. I think by the middle of March this will be ready for trials. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
